Into the Forest discussion

This thread is for Son of the Shadows by Juliet Marillier
It is the second book in the Sevenwaters series!

I am currently reading this book and am completely enthralled!
For sometime now I've been wanting to learn more about Irish folklore, fairy tales and legends and this book is full of them.
In addition to the main story, the leading character, Liadan, is a storyteller. I am not even one third into the book and she has already told the tales of Cu Chulainn, his son Conlai and Tam Lin.
In the beginning of the book is an authors note with explaination and pronoucation guides to Celtic deities, Festivals and many names and terms.
This is exactly what I was looking for.
For everyone who read Daughter of the Forest, this book is about Liadan, daughter of Sorcha, the heroine of Daughter of the Forest.

I love Juliet Marillier, definitely one of my favorite authors. I read this series ages ago -- remember some but not all of the story. Not sure if I'll do a reread, but I have kept all the books that I bought by her.
