The thing with that show though is that it starts the Originals are invincible and strong, just so later there's all kinds of stuff and people that can beat them like puppets.
I don't know...I loved the show but by the end of it I was dizzy having rolled my eyes too often. :P

That's what happens with popular series...

We also just finished season 4 of Falling Skies. Another great series if you like alien invasion stories of course.

What about Vikings and The Last Kingdom? I've read the books written by Bernard Cornwall.

Never heard of The Last Kingdom. What's it about?
Did you see The One Hundred? (another sci fi.. a hundred kids are sent back on Earth to see if it's now viable.
We watched so many series with Netflix and our list of to-watch is still a mile long.

As for television shows, I've been watching a lot of them.
Walking Dead, the 100, Z-nation, House of Cards, Ash vs. Evil Dead, the list goes on.
I really think tv is overtaking movies in the quality department.

I'm always wary to start a new zombie book BUT that never stopped me from doing it. The thing is, it can be so easy to follow the same pattern, yet, as it is, not many of the books I've read do so...
In the end, there's just something that pulls me towards them. If you see my list of read and to-read, you'll see I've got plenty on both side. :P
I've got a blank trying to remember what we watched and are watching... hmm Sleepy Hollow is one I remember...I wished there was a way to see all we already watched from Netflix. Grrr
I remember a series with werewolves...I think it had 'bite' in it but I just can't remember... darn chemo brain! Anyway, that was another good series.
O

The Last Kingdom is about King Edward and his dream of making England into one country, which his son Alfred did later. Urthred of Bebbenburg is the MC, (very yummy) kidnapped by Danes when they over ran his lands. Its full of intrigue and fighting. I really enjoy it. Edward is very religious and Urthred is a pagan who refuses to convert, which of course makes the King mad and the priests (only interested in money and power) outraged. All of Cornwall's books are based on fact and he is a descendant of the Bebbanburgs.
My sons tried to get me to watch the Walking Dead. I watched one episode and that was it for me.

The look on her face when undead started showing up in Game of Thrones, priceless!

I am also loving Happy Valley and CANNOT WAIT for The 100 tomorrow night. Plus Beowulf - but he is less yummy than Uhtred.

Their parents did it. Well it's the mom who was a witch with the help of the father (an x-Viking). And yes, it's an offshoot. You should remember Klaus the hybrid werewolf/vampire that terrorized Carolyn and Tyler for a while? I think Elijah made an apparition or two or three too... well he's an original and it's their and the siblings' story we follow.
@Yolanda, I'll have to look into that (The Last Kingdom)
Other shows...I've watched Beauty and the Beast. While I loved the first season, the second one was blah to me. Enough that I'm not even sure I want to watch anymore...

I, too, hate zombies and cannot stand The Walking Dead, though my hubby's obsessed.
Recently, I've been catching up on Once Upon A Time. This is a series I kinda think is cringey terrible but -Dagnammit -it's addictive.
The Shadowhunters is another I'm following. Undecided on my opinion as of yet. It is sticking fairly well to the books, but I read those books so long ago I'm not sure I'm gonna enjoy the story as much now.
Eagerly anticipating more Supernatural, OITNB and GoT.
Anyone watched Making A Murderer? Now that's a series well worth seeing! If anyone has recs of similar, please point me at em :)

But that was a British one so only 6 episodes... Now I'm on series 8 of criminal minds.

I also loved The Mentalist. LOVE Simon Baker. :P

Amber, nothing wrong in being a nerd - I like Take me out, and Ninja UK :)

LOVED The 100 tonight :) Will love Death in Paradise tomorrow :)

Currently, I have busted out my DVD set of "My So-Called Life" and am reliving the 90's, which is really funny b/c now that I'm in my thirties, I can relate to the adults but still remember what those teen feelings felt like. Jordan was such a douche!

Moonlight was a series about a vampire, Mick St-John, played by Alex O'Loughlin.

I haven't watched the series you're mentioning but it does sound like something I'd love.. I'm going to have to research it. :P

It said it was cancelled after one season...if we saw it, hubby will remember. He keeps talking about how many great shows that were discontinued while others so-so are still playing.
(I added it to the Netflix list in case we haven't)

Oh my, Alex O'Loughlin was a cutie in that show. He's not as handsome now in Hawaii Five 0. :(

Shades of Blue is the series with JLo and its really good. Ray Liotta is also in it as a corrupt captain and boy does he have issues.

Don't have Shades of Blue here - well not freeview, shame I would probably like it.

I had missed it too. Found this jewel on Netflix. Later I bought a few episodes on iTunes and realized I needed to have the DVD. ;)
I have never watched Shades of blue but I like JLO and love Liotta so I might look into that. (As long as it's on Netflix )
