Please a heads up before deleting duplicate posts

Yesterday I did delete a duplicate without mentioning it in the retained thread. Sorry. 98% of the time I do state in the retained thread that the duplicate has been deleted.
How about if we just make sure we state in the retained thread that something has been deleted, wouldn't that solve your issue? Then you can transfer your notification to the retained thread. I would prefer this option.
If we had a policy of giving a heads up and then waiting (how long?) before deletion, it would create a fair amount of extra work and monitoring. Not only do people create duplicate threads on purpose because they haven't bookmarked the original thread and have lost it, or because they don't know how or don't want to edit the original thread they just created, but there is also a system bug on the app that sometimes creates one, two, or even three duplicates of a post with the same time stamp.

It's fine, it doesn't bother me that much, I was just trying to see if there could be a solution to this. It wasn't my intention to suggest something that creates so much more work for you guys.
Thanks for the answer :)
The problem is that if the duplicate posts are not right after each other, I don't see it and I don't follow one of them. Then when the admin deletes the duplicate, it's usually the one I'm following.
I'm wondering if it's possible for the admins to give a little heads up before deleting a post because it's a duplicate please?
Thanks :)
