Ok, trying out some challenges this year!

And I might try a couple of others... And probably fail miserably! :D

I think it was mainly due to a lack of wanting to read for a few months. The start of the year went well, but then just didn't feel like reading at all...

I was thinking maybe there were some troublesome letters that you might want help finding options for.

You're at 9 at the end of February, leaving 17 for ten months so two a month should be pretty easy.

I added the alphabet to my thread. Not as a challenge, but just to see how things shake out. Also, on those days when I can't decide what to read, I can use that in addition to the SFE list to try to make my decision.

Suggestions for tricky letters would be welcome! I prefer mainly fantasy/scifi, but I'll read pretty much any fiction if it's good :)

Decided to do a count of the number of pages I read this year. Not really a challenge, as I have no idea as to what a good goal would be, but might be fun to see how many pages I get to :)

So far this year the count is 7,268 pages :)

That sounds pretty good. I'm only on about 5,000 or so, so go you!

I'm around 6000 right now so I'd say really good. That's in the 100 pages a day range.

Well, some of it is manga which is a lot quicker to read... :)

Finished Snømannen which is 438 pages, making the current number of pages 7,268 + 438 = 7,706

It will also cover S in my A-Z challenge, and 'a book from my country' in the SFE challenge.

Your A-Z challenge is taking a beating. 50% and not even 25% into the year.

It will also cover Q in the A-Z, and 'a book that's under 150 pages.

Always nice when books hit multiple challenges.

E - The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde.

Just saying. One of my favorite finds the last few years were his Thursday Next and Nursery Crime series. And I don't usually read series anymore.

Finished Unicorn Western: 134 pages - 7,724 + 134 = 7,858

Which will also cover 'book I can read in a day' in the SFE challenge.

I was planning on using it in the A-Z challenge too, until I went to enter it in and realized I already had a U..... lol

Oh, I forgot that is was also a 'forgotten' book :D

Really knocking down the subchallenges there.

The challenges are actually helping me reduce the number of unread books on my Kindle :)

I wish I could do that.

I know that feeling... I tend to buy lots of Kindle books, but rarely get around to reading them. I have around 400 unread books on my Kindle, most of them I don't even remember what they are...

Looking through them is a chore.

The evils of clutter. In the end, nothing is really free.

I often use the Kindle app on my PC to look through them, at least it gives me the chance to view the covers :)
At this point I have completely forgotten whats on there...

Covered O on A-Z challenge, also counts as 'forgotten book' and audio book.

Brings the total number of pages read to 8,184

Finished Døde menn går på ski. Which for a 'funny' book was horribly boring. You're not missing out :P

But it will be useful in the SFE challenge for book written by a comedian. It doesn't count in any other challenges other than the total number of pages read, which is now 8,400.
