Now this chapter was a little less deep and easier to follow.
Arya is really lucky that Yoren was at King's Landing recruiting when he was. That worked well for her escape. It would have gotten pretty scary if he had not been there.
I don't think those other boys will mess with her any longer. Well done kid!

Ria that is interesting. So it sounds like he was sent to pick up Ned.
I am unclear. Was that explanation from a book or from a thread? I don't understand.

The quote is from this chapter, page 32 in my edition. Remember he and Tyrion were going south together after Tyrion visited the Wall? Then they met Catelyn at the Inn on the Crossroads or whatever its name was and Tyrion was taken to the Eyrie, while Yoren and the other men from the Wall went on to King's Landing to plead for more men for the Watch. That's why Yoren was going to the capital, he even talked to Ned because he knew the Watch was still respected in the North and thought Ned would listen to him and be of more help than the King. He was just about to leave for the Wall when he received the note he tells Arya about in this quote and had to stay a little longer. But then Ned was executed and he happened to see Arya who'd climbed on the statue to see better and yeah, you know the rest.

Despite being young and smaller than the other boys, she definitely could do some damage.
So he was there for Ned, not necessarily Arya. Kind of amazing luck that he came across her and recognized her in that crowd!
Once again this chapter proves that Arya is a tough cookie. She is ready to battle anybody who gets in her way. I just wonder how she is going to get around the fact that she is a girl at The Wall. Also, will Jon recognize her with a shaved head? If so, I wonder what will happen. I am hoping that it is different from the TV Series!!!!

Yoren isn't taking her to the Wall, his intention is to leave her at Winterfell. He said that once or twice, I think. Though now that you said it, it would've been interesting to read something like that.
The last we see Arya on GOT she is grabbed by the Hound at the execution of Eddard Stark. Now we see her with Yoren going North to The Wall, "The rest he found in chains 'The Watch needs good men'...'but you lot will do'"(23). Yoren is gathering men for The Watch. Then on page 26 Arya gets into a fight with the other boys and when Yoren sees this he scolds and punishes her stating, "Next time you take that stick to one of your brothers you'll think twice what you give me you hear? Now cover yourself. They're not my brothers Arya thought" (27). Then clarification comes on page 28 where Martin writes that Arya would let her off at Winterfell without telling the others. Thanks for the clarification!!! It was late when I read the chapter. Lesson learned, never read A Clash of Kings late at night or you might miss an important detail.

Yeah these are books to read a little more alert. Sometimes I try to read one chapter before bed. But I have learned just to stop if I get sleepy instead.

Eh? You're welcome, but she was not grabbed by the Hound, she was grabbed by Yoren. The Hound was most likely somewhere near Joffrey at that time.

Terry wrote: "Is Arya's name pronounced : "Are rye ah" or "Are Ya"?"
On the show it is mainly pronounced Are Ya.

Wow, I repeated that so many times it lost all meaning :D

I don't know if you guys remember, but in the show the guy who kinda saves Arya seems like (view spoiler)
