Hi Lu! I didn't finish Feb's word of the month. I only finished the 'R' and the 'L'. But will try for March again. I've had THE THOUSANDS AUTUMNS OF JACOB DE ZOET by David Mitchell on my TBR list for a long time. Does the 'Z' appear to far in the title to qualify?

Yea unfortunately, the Z has to be the first letter in the title or author name or surname.

I'll see what I can find, maybe Zoo City by Lauren Beukes. Haven't read it.

Zoo City is a great read. Alternatively you can read a book by our author of the month - Zakes Mda.

Well done! Did you enjoy Zoo City?

I have a copy of The Ivy Tree, but haven't read it yet. If you enjoy Mary Stewart, there is a Goodreads Group that only reads her books.

Zoo City was well written and I enjoyed the characters. The attachment between Zinzi and her Sloth was beautifully portrayed and I loved the quirky comments with the Afrikaans "slang". Didn't really enjoy the story all the way though. I've lost the thread somewhere. But is definitely reading Lauren Beukes again! Borrowed The Shining Girls from my "buurvrou". The first english mystery novels I've read (primary school!) was by Mary Stewart, hence the sentiment. I enjoyed The Ivy Tree much more the first time, but it is still a fun read.
