Jodi Sudduth | 85 comments My first Linda Howard book was Sarah's Child. I had been reading something else and at the back of the book were samples of other authors. I thought this story line sounded interesting. I was hooked and went to the library to read up all that I could! That Rome, he needed a smack to the head but there was also a lack of communication on both of their parts.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments That is a good question. I don't remember, but whatever it was it sent me on a Linda Howard binge and I read a lot. I think it was about the time I joined Goodreads and discovered this group.

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 149 comments The first thing I read was a novelette, "Lake of Dreams." The first book was Dream Man by Linda Howard .

Jonetta (ejaygirl) My first was Mackenzie's Mountain. The rest is history.

Dream Man may have been the next book after finishing the Mackenzies series.

Wanda Hamad | 144 comments Sarah's Child was the first one I read. But I didn't know it was a Linda Howard novel until after I read Dream Man and saw it listed with her other books.

Nancy (gr-nancy-a) | 799 comments I read Harlequin and Silhouette so I am sure my first LH book was when she wrote for those publishers..wish I could remember which title was that very first one! (If GoodReads had been available I could easily answer that question :)

I was in high school when I found a random copy of Dying to Please Dying To Please by Linda Howard about 8 years back. It was in the "Reserved for Teachers" section but I took a risk and the librarian let me issue it. I loved it and added LH to my list of favorite writers which had been limited to Sidney Sheldon and JK Rowling till then. I began looking for more LH books in whichever bookshop I visited, and finally found To Die For To Die For (Blair Mallory, #1) by Linda Howard which was my second LH book and I knew she would never disappoint me. :)

Eve (everf) | 815 comments Open Season and then Mr. Perfect and I was hooked. So I began looking for more books by her. I've enjoyed most of them very much. She's one of those authors I can reread over and over again and never tire.

Oh yes! I can remember reading Mr. Perfect for the first time. I was traveling and my husband was at home and I would call him and say I think the killer is this person and then when I got to the end I had to say it was not who I thought. I had to reread to see where I missed it. That is a very good book!

I was totally hooked. I started looking for all her books and even went on eBay to find some of the rarer books and that was it.

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 138 comments I love questions like this! My first LH novel started a quest to get my hands on anything she wrote. This was THE one:

Duncan's Bride (Patterson/Cannon Family, #1) by Linda Howard

I loved the issues this couple had to face. To me the story was so well thought out and refreshingly realistic, especially the (view spoiler) There was just enough humor and suspense, too. I just HAD to read more of her stuff!

I think I need to re-read this. It's been a few years. LOL!

Jodi Sudduth | 85 comments I loved Duncan's Bride also. One of my fave scenes is when she fixes the chicken for him for supper. What piece is this?????

Nancy (gr-nancy-a) | 799 comments Loved that one too ! Lol

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments That is a good question Jodi! I think it was Open Season. I was at the library and was looking for an audio. I saw that one and just picked it up. I hadn't heard anything from her before so I picked it up. In all honesty, I think I got it and returned it a couple of times before I broke down and listened to it. I would start to listen to it and then I listened to the part with the sex slave and I put it down. I had lent one of my co-workers Open Season to listen to and later she said LH was one of her favorite authors. I finally listened to her, and I was hooked.

From there it was After the Night, Mackenzie's Mountain, Duncan's Bride.
