At halfway I suspect Costello was being blackmailed because he was a client of Ashe’s aunt, and Ashe took photos. But I doubt he’ll turn out the murderer of Venetia.

Quite wrong about Costello but sussed out that the blood and wig desecration and the stabbing were committed by different characters. I was especially pleased that the murderer apparently gets away unpunished; considering Venetia's skill at securing acquittal for the guilty, it's most appropriate.
