I've uploaded a new cover image/chapter for the project. Trying to get into Quill. Appreciate any support.

Thanks!

Ok, just double-checking.

First, I can't tell what I'm looking at. The image is inscrutable so I have no reaction to it. I can't tell what genre it is - for all I know, this is the pattern on the front of a blank journal.

Next, the title is far too small. So is your author name. The text is unreadable unless I really strain, and readers aren't going to go through that effort. They will gloss over your cover and look to the next one. Your cover needs to give people a reason to think your book might contain something they're interested in, and this one doesn't work to do that.

Cover design is really difficult, and most of us just can't design our own. I think there are people over on Johnslist who would love to take a shot at designing a cover for you, either for free because they're nice, or as a trade for some work in return. Promotion or something. Just ask, if you can't afford a professional designer.

Good luck!

Rob F F. | 16 comments Thanks Cara,

That's some good feedback. I'll try and poke around for someone more skilled than myself to design a temporary cover. I've been wanting to do that anyway.

Joni Dee | 49 comments I agree Rob. u have to see the text.

When u do this - how do u make the Inkshares generic text disappear?

Rob F F. | 16 comments Just go to the "edit" function. Click Settings. Then change cover art. There will be a check box that says something about keeping the overlay text. Unclick that.
