We learn a lot more about Kathleen O'Dell. Your thoughts about Maggie's mother? Should she give up on her?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments On the one hand, I was very angry with the woman for trying to push her daughter back into the marriage with Greg. She was meddling and she didn't listen to her daughter at all.

On the other hand, I felt sorry for her that the path to recovery from her alcohol consumption /addiction was by means of the slimy religious fraud, Father (Everett).

So now I don't know

She's pretty self-absorbed and tells Maggie to just "get over it" when she confronts her about her childhood experiences. It was also very cruel how she disclosed the facts about her father's affair and half sibling. Her susceptibility to Everett was illuminating, showing she has an addictive personality.

Until this woman gets professional help, Maggie should consider this a toxic relationship.

Tracey (trakka) | 407 comments Not a great relationship and in can see how Maggie is how she is, very distant with people and looks like she has a developing problem with alcohol.

I feel sorry that Kathleen had to deal with how Maggie's father treated her but then I don't think she dealt with Maggie very well. Maybe a bit of honesty sooner would have helped matters.

I don't think Maggie should give up on her but I really think they both need some professional help if this relationship is going to become a good one (IMO).

Oh, Maggie definitely needs some serious therapy. I'm hoping her friend, Gwen steps up and insists on it.

Tracey (trakka) | 407 comments Yes I am hoping Gwen comes to the rescue!!

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments I don't like Maggie's mother. She is a selfish, self-absorbed woman who doesn't have her daughter's best interests at heart.

Even in her private musings, it's all about her with little empathy for her daughter.
