There is supposed to be a movie coming out this year for Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. So I do plan on reading that before the movie comes out. What did you think of the book?

Hi Heather, thanks for joining the group. I have read the whole Selection series except for the novellas. I loved it. If you ever need or want to discuss any of the books, I'll be more than welcome to.

Celeste I would love to hear your thoughts on The Passage by Justin Cronin and why you didn't care for Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. I plan on reading both before the end of April.

Hi I'm Ary! I liked Miss Peregrine's, it was good enough but it felt to dense, maybe because of the length of the chapters, I mean the book only has eleven chapters and is a 352 pages book, also there were no mysteries, like all the questions the reader could possibly have were answered too soon in the book, so it doesn't really makes you want to pick up the next book immediately, nevertheless, as I said before it was good enough and the trailer looks pretty cool, plus Tim Burton!! is the director, so what else could we possibly ask for?

It didn't leave me wanting to pick up the sequel immediately.
There were also good things, like the pictures, the way they wrap around the story, the way the story was originally inspired by them, it's really interesting!
The movie trailer looks really nice though, and with that director I expect great things of it!

I liked it, it wasn't the best thing I've ever read, but it was good enough, I did have my issues with it, like the narration style and the length of the chapters, but it was good after all the movie trailer looks really nice! That's a movie I'm definetely going to watch.

Oh okay I have heard that some people didn't like the narration style. I tend to take a long time to read a book when the chapters are pretty long. I am definitely interested in seeing the movie since Tim Burton is the director. He makes awesome movies.

I haven't read The Marvelous Land of Oz yet, but I did read The Wizard of Oz. It was so much different for me reading it because I'm so used to the movie.

@Maddy I haven't read The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden. I recently got the book from a friend. I would be more than happy to know your thoughts once you finish the book.
I didn't know that Mombie and Tip actually existed in the originals. I have read Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige and Mombie and Tip is in there. I thought that Danielle Paige made those characters up. It's interesting to know that they were actually created by Baum.

I have assumed that the novel was being advertised as a horror novel as well. It kind of feels like a let down that it isn't. I'll have to read this soon. I'm kind of anxious to see where it went wrong.

Hey guys! I have put up May's BOTM nominations for our first group read set for May and I have also put up the details for our first group challenge that's set to start April 1st.

That sounds interesting. I like some emotionally filled books, depending on the story line attached to it. You know as long as it makes sense for the characters and doesn't just come out of nowhere

Yes we can as long as we get at least 2 books during nominations

I am currently reading Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine, The Final Arrangement by Annie Adams, and The New Girl by R.L. Stine
I'll probably finish The New Girl tonight as it's a very short read. It's only about 170 pages

I've read Twilight in the past when I was still in high school. I loved it. I didn't read any of the second and third book in the series until about a year ago and I didn't like them as much. I don't know if it's because of my changes in interest or if Bella just got a little annoying.

Yes it is, especially when you realize you like it more than you did. I am hoping that that'll be true when I try to reread The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Cuckoo's Calling
I finished The New Girl by R.L. Stine. I'm still reading Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine and The Final Arrangement by Annie Adams. I just started Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli.

@Maya. I just started A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray. I'm on Chapter 6. I find the concept of it very interesting, I just don't know how much of the backstory I can take. I'm ready for them to start actually seeing where Paul is in London. I'm ready for them to actually run into him or be close to running into him. Something. Anything lol
I have Spelled on my TBR, Maddy. I would be glad to know what you think of it when you finish it

I'm currently reading Flamecaster, and I picked this one up because I loved The Demon King and the rest of the Seven Realms series. I feel like not enough people know about the Seven Realms! They're so amazing, I've never read anything like it!

I finished Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine. I started and finished Brave New World. I am still reading The Final Arrangement by Annie Adams and Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. I started A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray and A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab.
