I would love recommendations for books with Scottish heroes, contemporary, historical, paranormal, you name it.

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 381 comments Me too! Most I've read seem to be time travels, or like Kerrelyn Sparks's vampire books, but you may try Between a Vamp and a Hard Place by Jessica Sims for a fun little book or The Firebird (Slains, #2) by Susanna Kearsley for a wonderful but more serious novel (even tho its sorta YA).

Renegade ♥ (renegadeheart) | 27 comments You may want to look into Jennifer Ashley's McBrides and McKenzies series (historical romance) and see what you think:

The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Mackenzies & McBrides, #1) by Jennifer Ashley Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage (MacKenzies & McBrides, #2) by Jennifer Ashley The Many Sins Of Lord Cameron (MacKenzies & McBrides, #3) by Jennifer Ashley The Duke's Perfect Wife (MacKenzies & McBrides, #4) by Jennifer Ashley A Mackenzie Family Christmas The Perfect Gift (MacKenzies & McBrides, #4.5) by Jennifer Ashley The Seduction Of Elliot McBride (MacKenzies & McBrides, #5) by Jennifer Ashley

The Untamed MacKenzie (MacKenzies & McBrides, #5.5) by Jennifer Ashley Rules for a Proper Governess (MacKenzies & McBrides, #7) by Jennifer Ashley The Wicked Deeds of Daniel Mackenzie (MacKenzies & McBrides, #6) by Jennifer Ashley Scandal And The Duchess (MacKenzies & McBrides, #6.5) by Jennifer Ashley The Stolen Mackenzie Bride (MacKenzies & McBrides, #8) by Jennifer Ashley A MacKenzie Clan Gathering (MacKenzies & McBrides, #8.5) by Jennifer Ashley

I've been enjoying it and have almost read them all :)

A Klue (fromthesouth) | 19 comments There is a GRs shelf called "Popular Scottish Heroes or Heroines" that has 76 listings. I found it by googling "Goodreads Scottish Heroes." You might want to browse through it. This thread is good also, of course, cause it is specific, personal recommendations. Some of my fav. authors who always include Scottish heroes is Amy Jarecki, Monica McCarty (Love her Highland Guard series!), Margaret Mallory, Julianne MacLean, Mary Wine, etc. Btw, a lot of Amy Jarecki's books are usually on Kindle Unlimited. Sometimes I join just for a month so I can read her books! Btw, Jennifer Ashley is a great suggestion! Love her writing!

Susan (the other Susan) (theothersusan) | 259 comments Just started Connie Brockway's Highlander Undone. I loved her early historical romances, so looking forward to this.

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 381 comments What about Scottish heros NOT in historicals?

Thanks, Ladies. I'll check out the recommendations. Like Cindi, I would love to read more non-historicals with Scottish heroes. I love me some HIghlander romance, but modern Scottish heroes would be delish as well.

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 381 comments While Mariana by Susanna Kearsley is not a Scottish hero book, there is a wonderful Scot in it. And in it I heard something I thought was really cool...
"Just a Scottish form of John, for all that. No imagination involved. Iain, Evan, Sean, Hans--they're all variations on a theme."
I never knew that all the Iains are Johns!!!
PS: its a really good book!

This was my first KMM and it's still a standout read. But then, Jericho is in a class of his own. :)

Caro LaFever has a contemp. Scottish romance series. Here's my review of the NetGalley ARC I received for Laird of the Highlands:

The other books in this series features Greeks & Italian heroes. Viking & Latino heroes to be added in the near future. Laird of the Highlands is currently only $.99.

SandyL Karina Halle has some books with Scottish MC's -
The Pact by Karina Halle
The Offer by Karina Halle
The Play by Karina Halle
The Lie by Karina Halle

She doesn't call it a series, but the characters are related

Netanella | 195 comments "Unbound" by Cara McKenna is a Scottish Highlands contemporary. It's been on my TBR pile for a while now, but I've read the author before and she's good.

Unbound by Cara McKenna
