READING..."
That's one I plan to attend---make up for my absence in February. :)

You guys can schedule your dates any day of the week. It doesn't have to be on a weekend. It's up to you.
It may be easier for you to set just one location for your dates. For example:
Mandaluyong / Pasig
Enjoy: Trampoline Park at Greenfield District
Browse: Cevio Art Haus
Eat: Poco Deli
Quezon City
Enjoy: Yoga or Pilates at White Space Katipunan
Browse: Art In Island
Eat: Lola Cafe and Bar
There's a lot to do and enjoy around the city. It's just a matter of research. You can also suggest activities for other pairs. :)

Hi Monique--
What is the time and location for April's meeting on the 23rd?
thx! Steve

OR I should have said, thanks Steve! LOL

It's already F2F tomorrow, but before any of that discussion, please allow me to do some last-minute updating about what transpired during the weekend adventure I had with my pair, Monique! It was really convenient as the venue for all three activities we did for Eat, Browse and Enjoy were walking distance away from one another.
We first dined at Za's Café where I had my first ever grilled ensaymada (I didn't realize it'll be super yum!) It was a quaint café with no-nonsense furniture; one can already see that the place has seen time passing. I liked the spot where we were seated, by the window, light streaming in, as we talked about anything under the sun. Our conversations were belated, but I'm so glad that we had this opportunity to rectify that. It was cut short, though, as we had to go to our next activity which was browse through Solidaridad's shelves. It's F. Sionil Jose's bookstore and I have never been! It was almost closing time then but the people manning the store were kind enough to let us take our time to look through the books (unlike, I imagined, the Oscars where the orchestra starts playing a melody as cue for the Oscar winner to wrap up his/her speech already!) It was a relatively small bookstore but the choices were eclectic. Prior to that visit, I thought Solidaridad only sold Filipiniana. So naturally, I became giddy with excitement when I saw that they carry NYRBs, a wide array of nonfiction books ranging from politics to religion, even picture books of ceramics! It was all so very interesting! Before we left, I bought a slim collection of essays by Susan P. Evangelista titled Growing Into Asia. As of this writing, I'm proud to report that I'm halfway that book. Anyhoo, for our final activity, which was the physical part, Monique booked me as guest for her Body Jam class! It was a two-part, a-little-over-an-hour-long routine which consisted mostly of sweating, jumping, and timing. I enjoyed it so much, I might just have found the perfect way to nudge me out of the sedentary lifestyle I lead. It was invigorating! That afternoon spent in Monique's neighborhood was really fun and memorable. I enjoyed every last bit of it and I can't thank her (and perhaps, Aaron, too?) enough.
That's it for us!

CONGRATS, cousin! As Joy said, it was, perhaps, the most revealing and intimate F2F, everr. And I had fun, hahaha.
Ronnie's Betamax FTW!

READING SCHEDULE
There are 4 parts to this novel so it would be only convenient if we follow that on our reading schedule. 1 part for each week until the 23rd of April when our F2F discussion will happen. You can also start reading ahead this week since the first part is particularly long.
ACTIVITY: It's a Date! Unlikely Pairs Weekend Adventures
Unlike my previous discussions, we will only have one month-long activity.
Inspired by Goodreads users, Greg and Karen's adventures in food and fun. The goal of this activity is to intimately know another member of the group you don't usually hang out with. Think of this like one of those films where two strangers meet and spend the rest of the day together. (Examples: Brief Encounters, Before Sunrise, Before We Go, etc.)
Those of you who are interested to participate in the activity will have to signup on the google form I will provide below. By the night of Easter Sunday, I will give out the unlikely pairs assignment. When you get your pair, please decide between the two of you when are you going to meet and what are the things on your itinerary. Execute the plan and take lots of photos. Tell us here on this thread what you guys did! Look at Greg and Karen's writings above for examples.
There will be 3 categories of activities you need to fulfill:
Enjoy: Do something fun together. Something that will require you to be an active participant, This could be something you don't usually do. Participate in a fitness class, join an arts and crafts class, go kart racing, play archery, etc.
Browse: Browse some place. It could be a library, museum, vinyl record shops, antic shops, etc.
Eat: After all those activity you've done, reward yourself with a meal. Fill yourself up with great food while enjoying each other's company.
Further instruction to be given when the assignments has been finalized.
F2F EVENT: Summer Outing at Batangas
Time to hit the beach, you guys! We haven't gone to the beach yet. Time to rectify that this summer. The details haven't been finalized yet but we will be holding at Bernabeach, Nasugbu, Batangas. Day trip only but those who are willing to go overnight could do so.
This will be on the 23rd of April. Save the date!
Transportation and fee details to be discussed when we get the headcount.
Please signup for the ACTIVITY and F2F EVENT on the following dooblidoo:
