Steven Moore Hi Michael,
U: That's more with trad-pubbing. 1000+ rejections and narcissistic and incompetent agents, some sitting on a MS for months only to say "sorry, not for me" or something similar, turned me to POD. But the worst thing about indie is trad-pub's old stallions who ID indie with vanity still (King is one of them).
B: Most POD's. I'm trying Create Space for the first time, but I had bad experiences with both Xlibris and Infinity. Their production fees are too expensive, you do most of the work, and they put prices on your books that aren't compatible. I'm hoping CS is better.
G: I'm my own boss. Whatever sales I make, 70% belongs to me (ebooks, not pbooks, of course). I don't have agents or editors telling me to modify my style. And I have more time to attend to readers and help other authors.
That's it in a nutshell. Of course, I have many more words about this on my blog. I'm also willing to discuss more private details via email: steve@stevenmmoore.com.
r/Steve
