Dawn of Wonder

It's very well written but to this point it's purely a coming of age story which I don't mind as long there's a payoff. I'm hoping the second half more develops.
I should point out I in general like the YA fantasy genre since I read a lot of it with my daughters and I also read like a lot of historical fiction with no magic at all that's set in this type of setting such as The Last Kingdom which I just read and loved.
Maybe somebody else can chime in on the second half but I'd say if you like a well written coming of age read it but if you're looking for more fantasy in your read probably skip it. I'm still hopeful it comes alive in that aspect in the second half.

I love Riyeria but I find Name of the Wind vastly overrated and think Dawn of Wonder was much better. I don't think there's a time table for book two yet sadly.

As far as book two goes I think it is going to be some time, he is still working on the first draft from what I have read, so it seems it will be at least another year or more. I hope it comes out soon but I would rather wait until he thinks it is ready. I will probably re read Dawn of Wonder before book two comes out. Maybe a couple times. It was so good.

I'll definitely re-read it when the other one comes out.
Royce and Hadrian are awesome.
Best,
