Hi everyone,

My name is Iman, I'm 28 and I live in Paris.

I'm both a reader and an author (often the case, I know) and my singularity is that I'm beninese and french, as well as a french native speaker. My reading are both french and english, when my writing is only in french.

Well that might change soon as I'm translating one of my books (a fantasy one) in english. It's a long process, an interesting one too. The series include four books, two being already out in french, the third one coming out this year (september i think) and the last one being currently under writing.

That is actually why I'm asking for your help : I need to get my book discovered by english readers that might be interested at proof reading AND/OR helping me finance the translation project. Why so ? Well, I mostly have french followers so it's hard to get the project known by english readers.

Well, any advice to reach my first english readers OR any help in my campaign would be great. Thank you very much !

Are you looking only for promotion?

I ask because I offer English translation cleanup as a service. I find that very few people know this is even a 'thing,' but I started doing it last year and find that I love it.

Your English is very good! I suspect you will only need light proofreading.

What about connecting with some of the book review blogs? I know another group on here has a bunch of bloggers.

Sonnet, I already have someone for the cleanup/correction (and I get what you mean about people not knowing it as a thing, lol, even though it is necessary!). however, I'm curious about your profile : are you doing it as your job now ?
And i'd love to meet english speaking bloggers : I just know none of them :p I'd love to know the group you're talking about.

I am an editor, so I offer translation cleanup as one of my services. For example I also offer developmental / structural editing and proofreading.

I know I just saw a bunch of book bloggers in another group I joined: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/... . I admit I have no idea if they are active or what their reach is, but it sounded like a good promotional idea to me! I suppose you could do an online search for book reviewers or book bloggers and find the right person that way.

Or look for "beta readers," something a number of groups offer. These are people who are not trained editors, but they are (usually) native English speakers who will look over the book for you and correct any errors they see. They can help drum up interest, too!

As far as funding, I know some authors crowdsource to get their book published. This means going to a website like Kickstarter, Pubslush, or Authr and starting a campaign to raise your translation needs. People who love quality books donate, and you can get your work out there!
