It's moving quickly, and up to about the fourth chapter. I am still not sure if Molly or Anna is the focus ( I should perhaps read the blurb, or at least remember it!) but suspect that either one is very much like Doris Lessing herself, from the little I know.

I am not sure if I would enjoy this so much if it wasn't for Juliet Stevenson's reading - she is just fantastic. The expression she puts into the dialogue is perfect, I don't think it would read quite so well in my head.
The story moves between the story of Anna and a story that Anna has written in one of her notebooks, which it can be very hard to distinguish between at times until a name is mentioned as Anna and Ella are voiced very similarly. It moves between the past and the present a bit too, but that is usually quite obvious and not as confusing.
A little over halfway through, and I am not sure where it is going, a bit like the Communist Party in the story - lots of good ideas and intentions, but no real direction.
