Eli Adelholm (eliadelholm) | 46 comments Hello fellow fantasy lovers

I need something new to read. Due to my busy life and my sparse reading time, I just have to admit that I don't have a lot of patience with books that take too long to grab me.

For example I tried reading Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson a couple of months back, but I just couldn't get into that.

So I really hope you have some great fast-paced recommendations for me.

I was thinking something along the lines of Prince of Thorns and Half a King, which I greatly enjoyed.

Looking forward to see your suggestions! :)
/ Eli

Margret Red Rising trilogy- set on Mars so more Sci fi but very easy to get into and action packed

Mistborn series (of course) by Brandon Sanderson
Raven's Shadow series by Anthony Ryan
Troy series by David Gemmell

If you are willing to do audiobooks (since you don't have much time) while doing housework, driving, yard work etc I can't tell you how many times I've recommended any Brandon Sanderson book Michael Kramer has narrated, and Paul Boehmer who does the Farseer trilogy and Night angel trilogy is also fabulous. Other good audio series I've loved is Daughter of Smoke and Bone, An Ember in the Ashes, and if you're into WWII historical fiction the Book Thief.

Eli Adelholm (eliadelholm) | 46 comments Thank you for the suggestions, Margret!

I have tried the Mistborn series already as I have heard a lot of praise for it, but it didn't really catch me. I will definitely check out the other books you recommended, though.

Also, I have been thinking about doing the audiobook thing, so maybe now is the time to try it out with some of those titles :)

Frank Ryan (frankryan) | 36 comments Hi Eli,

I shall behave myself and not mention my own epic fantasy but have no hesitation in recommending Frances Hardinge's delightful award-winning debut novel, "Fly By Night".

Monica Davis Not sure if this is to your taste, but I just finished Hounded. A light, quick read that is entertaining from beginning to end.

If you liked Prince of Thorns, try Mark Lawrence's other series, starting with Prince of Fools. Same world, different characters, but just as good.

Jenna Kathleen (jennakathleen) Michael J. Sullivan's series are very easy to read and so much fun! They're not too long either.

I second this. Riyria Revelations is fun and entertaining. And the audiobooks for this series are very good.
