Linda C (libladynylindac) | 304 comments I'll get started and do in parts.

1. Significant other? Children? Pets?
I have been married for 43 years to my husband, Joe. We have one married daughter and one grandson. No pets.

2. What do you do for a living?
I'm a retired librarian, having worked my whole career in university libraries.

3. What is your favorite color? Blue

4. What destination would be your dream vacation?
We have done quite a bit of traveling since retiring, so have checked off a lot of places I've wanted to visit. But every year we head back to Maine for a couple of weeks (beautiful scenery and great seafood)

5. What is your favorite book genre?
SciFi Romance for a fun read

6. Who are three of your favorite authors?
Linnea Sinclair, Ilona Andrews, and Carla Kelly

7. What's your favorite word?
Satisfaction - it applies to so much: a life well lived; a good book found and read; a job well done; good friends to spend time with; a close knit family to rely on.

8. What actress/actor should play you a film in your life story?
I would like it to be Dame Judith Dench. A lady with guts and intellect, an inspiration. Not sure if that describes me, but she would make me look good.

Love this answer, especially how you expounded on why it is your favorite word.

Linda C (libladynylindac) | 304 comments Some more answers

9. Will you tell us a funny or favorite story about yourself?
This is a story that I don't remember but has been told in the family so much that I almost remember it.
I was a toddler. We lived in the country with farm fields all around our house. I was playing on a blanket while Mom was hanging laundry on the line outside. She went inside for another load and I was gone when she came back. A frantic search ensued. Our closest neighbor was called upon to help and their many kids were sent out. They had one son confined to a wheelchair who spent most of his time on the porch. After some time he said he kept seeing a flash in the middle of the wheat field behind the house. Off everyone trotted to investigate and there I was sitting in the field. The flash was a gold barrette in my hair. My Mother always told this story with the caveat " What if I had put on the plastic barrette that day?"

10. What are your hobbies?
reading, traveling, bowling

11. Where is your favorite place to read?
A comfy couch with a table for my cup of coffee

12. What is your favorite sport to watch or play?
I bowl for fun; no big scores. I watch Dancing with the Stars and am amazed by their athleticism and rhythm. I can't even clap to a beat!

13. What was your favorite subject in school?
English and History about even. I liked stories fiction or nonfiction

14. How are you creative?
NOT! I can follow directions.

15. What is your favorite sandwich?
I guess a Patty Melt - hamburg, fried onion, Swiss cheese on rye, grilled

16. What do you think is your very best feature or characteristic?
team player - it was the most repeated term on all my evaluations and what my boss told me she could count on. I always took it as a compliment, I helped get the job done, whatever it was.

17. If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like and what would it be for?
I am not a party person, so it would be small, close friends or family and casual; maybe a backyard BBQ where everyone brings a favorite dish. The reason would be just to spend time together.

18. If you could paint a picture of anything, what would you paint?
Remember the creative question above? It wouldn't be by me. If I went looking for a painting it would probably be a seascape of some kind

19. If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?
Helene Hanff, author of 84, Charing Cross Road. She had such a love for books and their language.

20. What’s your favorite comfort food?
Coffee and a scone - add a book, heaven!

BONUS Tell us three things about yourself not covered in these questions.
1-We are downsizing to a one level home and I spent 6 months weeding my book collection from 5000 to 2500 (2000 TBR, 500 keepers)
2-I hate to wash dishes (boring waste of time); fortunately, my husband finds it relaxing and a time to let his mind wander
3-My daughter and I had a tense teen decade, even our reading was at opposite ends of the spectrum; today we are best friends and books are a favorite subject for discussion and we even like some of the same things!
