I just finished A Gentleman in Moscow and loved it. To me it was a beautiful fairy tale about the indomitability of the human spirit.

Hello. I'm an avid reader (and aspiring writer) from Cleveland, Ohio, looking forward to being part of of book group. Nice to see that David Mitchell is on deck. Since he's my favorite writers in recent years, and "Black Swan Green" one of his best. Look forward to re-reading it.

Hello, my name is Kevin Kuhn. I've been a King fan for a long time - first book was Dead Zone which I loved, but The Stand hooked me forever. I've read most of his novels and short stories, but still have a few to do. He inspired me to write and publish my own novel which has been a wonderful adventure. My favorite genre is science fiction and I love it when Mr. King drifts into that space. I'm glad to be part of the group.

Thanks for accepting my request to join this group. I'm currently reading Virginia Woolf's To the Lighthouse (second work of VW for me) and Alexandre Dumas Queen Margot and Lee Child's Killing Floor.
I'm a PhD graduate from Glasgow University and for the longest time I've had to read text books related to my thesis on Media and Cultural Studies.
Now that is done and dusted, I'm catching up on my reading list (hence my aim at tackling three novels), rereading classics and finding new ones that I would not have picked given a chance.
This year I've set myself to read ones out of my comfort zone, and hope this group can help :)

I read a wide array of books but this year I have focused more on classics, finding and reading new as well as rereading the ones I loved. i was invited here but never read any of your constant reader books as late

I have been a member of Goodreads for years and even met a book buddy here that I communicate with regularly now. I have never discussed a book before on this site and would like to ask a question of readers of A Gentleman in Moscow. I adored this book and am having trouble letting it go and moving on. My question: "Why did Count Rostov publish the poem and not his friend who actually wrote it?"
