Martha (marthais) Listopia: Red Hair

Some examples
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - Red-haired Weasleys galore!
Anne of Green Gables
Eleanor & Park
Pippi Longstocking
The Luck of Ginger Coffey

Discussion Prompts
- What did you / will you read for this task? What did you think of it?
- Red or ginger hair is often ridiculed (as is often the case with any point of difference), does the character in your book experience that? How do they overcome it?

Martha (marthais) For this prompt, I read Moving by Jenny Eclair. One of the three protagonists, Fern, is a redhead. I don't remember experiencing any stigma for being ginger so this was potentially not a great example! It's always struck me as a bizarre reason to stigmatize someone (not that there's ever a good reason) - red hair is GORGEOUS.
