LENA TRAK | 221 comments I see Lord Rickard's point and his need for revenge. I would probably think the same, were I in his shoes.

I feel sorry for Cat. I disagree with her decision to free Jaime, but she did it for the girls.

Jeyne Westerling! OKay I think in the TV show Robb's wife is a different person right? I mean not just the name, but Jeyne has a completely different background. I guess another deviation from the book. More surprises for me.. And why on Earth would Robb choose as a wife a woman who comes from a family of Lannister allies?? It could prove a smart move but then again her family has no power to offer. Walder Frey offered a small army.. oh, this is bad..

Yep Robb marries a girl who helps mend the injured knights. But I forget her name.

Brianna (bebecburt) | 562 comments thoughts while reading:

So the Karstarks serve the Starks and yet they're (mainly Rickard) going against what she is saying. I get their point, but they're supposed to respect their lord (and I'd imagine their lord's mother).
Ugh, when are the Stark kids going to realize they should ALWAYS have their wolves with them!
She definitely sees that Robb has grown up, but makes references to things he's doing/done that she thinks he's not old enough for yet (like getting married).
"It is swords you need, not gentle hearts."
I can't help but giggle that he married her only because they slept together. He seems to be just as honorable as his dad was.
I love that she respects what Grey Wind thinks of the people who are surrounding Robb.
"These wolves are more than wolves, Robb. You must know that. I think perhaps the gods sent them to us. Your father's gods, the old gods of the norht. Five wolf pups, Robb, five for five Stark children." ← And of course she forgets (chooses to ignore) Jon, but luckily Robb calls her out on that.
I sort of feel bad for Edmure. He was only trying to help win battles, but he really should have listened to what his king was telling him to do.
What person could help soothe Frey's pride?

Yes chose to ignore is most likely.

Vishakha Motwani (vimo) | 150 comments Ohh Catelyn seems scared to death of Robb's decision, I understand considering Walder Frey besides it's Robb's army who needs their allegiance not the other way around.

Would there be any better deal Cat could offer to the Freys?

Her name was Talisa and she was from Volantis. I'm watching the show as well, and this girl came during the battles before Cat freed Jaime, so I was kinda wondering where is Robb's wife in the books.. Now I know!

Ria (ban1chka) | 440 comments Oh, wow, Robb, that was so stupid... Perhaps from the point of view of someone who lives in Westeros, getting married to a girl you've "deflowered" might really be the honourable thing to do, but honestly, I think he did it out of love, not honour. And it was stupid. Besides, it's not like he raped her. It was her decision as well, so rather than do something that might ruin all your chances of winning a cause that is not yours alone, but of your entire kingdom, let her bear the consequences of her actions. No mistakes go unpunished in ASoIaF. Not keeping Grey wind by his side because of her - yet another mistake. And Edmure, wtf, I completely missed that part during my first reading. I guess I was too stunned that Robb had got married to be able to process everything else. But no, seriously, Edmure isn't the smartest person in the world, is he? He's a bit naïve, I think.
Btw, I'm sure Catelyn was right to ask Robb to send that uncle away, but I'm curious to know why Grey wind didn't like him.

I know, that was a huge mistake on Robb's part, besides if he had so much of an honor there are many things he could have done for that girl, I mean just giving them shelter and allegiance would have been enough I suppose.. Or marry her to someone respectable enough or just taken her into his custody..

Remind me about Edmure, what did he do?

He engaged Tywin into battle despite being explicitly ordered to stay and keep Riverrun, thus delaying Lannister enough for the message of the battle at King's Landing to reach him. Meanwhile, Robb was staying in the West to lure him there, but after he received the message, Tywin went to help his daughter and grandson instead. Good job, Edmure... Stannis might have won, too.
