I should have added Meljean Brook's Iron Seas series. It's a Steampunk type series, except set in a radically different world than ours. The Iron Duke is book one. In this world, Genghis Khan didn't stop his conquest the way he did in our world--he went on to conquer all of Europe. Making it even more fun--the "Steampunk" type elements have been going on for centuries (since the conquest of Europe). A very strange world, but you might like it.
