Maggie Holmes | 13 comments I got ahead of myself and read this last month. What is June's book going to be?

Maggie Holmes | 13 comments My review from last month on this book:
First off, the witches are some of my favorite characters in Discworld. I've actually read them backwards. This is the 2nd witch book (after Equal Rites), and I think I've read all the others.
The best part of this book is following all the Shakespeare references and trying to figure out where Hwil is getting his "inspiration."

I would like to know also. I want to get it and there are no book stores were I am at.

The Book Hermit Brian wrote: "The June pick will be Eric. I believe it is the shortest of the Discworld books."
Thanks

Mary Catelli | 58 comments The fun thing is though technically Equal Rites comes first, I think this is where the Witches sequence really takes form.

Maggie Holmes | 13 comments I agree. Granny Weatherwax in Equal Rites isn't the Granny of Wyrd Sisters. All of the essential elements of the witches -- the bees, the drinking song -- are in here.

Archimedes Grimm | 4 comments Definitely. And I love the witches - some of my favourite Pratchett books have them in them, but I love all his books so much it's hard to pick a favourite theme / sequence.

The Book Hermit One of my favorite Discworld books. I always liked the witches and to have a visit from DEATH was a great addition. Hwel was great. I hope to see his character again.

Mary Catelli | 58 comments There's always a visit from DEATH.

LOL I never thought about that.

All of the books I believe, however trivial it may be.

Archimedes Grimm | 4 comments Really? Don't remember him showing up in pyramids or carpet jugulum (and a few others) but I really wasn't looking for it so I didn't notice or pay particular attention. That does it, you've convinced me - I shall have to do a complete reread this year (against my will, how could you force me to do such a thing *cough cough*)

Mary Catelli | 58 comments Oh, sometimes it's really small. in Moving Pictures, it's only when (view spoiler).

That was my plan, but I'm not getting very far. How I long for the gold old days when there were no other distractions

Maggie Holmes | 13 comments Amen to no other distractions. I think I need a few clones just to read all my books. I could have 1 or 2 for each of my favorite genres. They could sleep in rotation so I wouldn't need any more bedrooms. Not sure how I would feed them all. Think of the great discussions we could have about what we've read!
