Nowhere Island University (also called NIU) started off as a slightly more grounded take on the superhero genre, but over time started getting to be more military thriller with a touch of soft sci-fi and fantasy.
It follows the adventures of Nathan Jacobs, a recent highschool graduate from the East Coast of the United States. Unsure of what he wants to do with his life, he is approached by an international paranormal law enforcement agency and offered an opportunity to save the world. All he has to do is spy on a college in the middle of the Pacific called Nowhere Island University.
Jumping at the opportunity and enrolling in Nowhere Island's Academy University's Academy of Military Science, Nathan soon discovers he is over his head. Surrounded by terrorists, criminals, and even a few parahumans and forced into the physically grueling and highly dangerous special first semester called Hell Semester, Nathan must make friends or die alone.
However, outside Hell Semester, far from Nowhere Island, powerful forces are beginning to stir. These players are nigh unstoppable, world-threatening... and are all converging on Nowhere Island.
