This thread contains spoilers for A Clash of Kings up through Chapter 53!

Rita (xeyra) Am I the only one reading up to these chapters right now?

Tyrion's chapters continue to be very cathartic because you do love when he slaps Joffrey or mocks Cersei but things are really getting difficult in KL. And poor Sansa.

Caroline | 6 comments I love Tyrion's chapters too!

Edina (edinakando) | 19 comments Same. Found it weird how nobody mentioned him as a great character before. It's always nice to read his witty comebacks/thoughts in a book where everyone is really grumpy and serious. Well, given the situation, I guess it's rather difficult to be otherwise.

Rita (xeyra) Also, it's amazing how I loved Arya chapters in the first book but so far her journey has been the most boring in terms of POV chapters. I mean, I still love them, but everyone else's events are more interesting in the overall story, moving things along in their own stories, but Arya is just... being captured and put to work. At least at this point. I know things pick up later.

Edina (edinakando) | 19 comments Yeah, and I know there aren't many Catelyn chapters, but those aren't as boring as they were in the first book either. I don't really like Bran's chapters tbh. I know he struggles and everything, but I hope that it picks up now that he met Meera and Jojen.

Edina (edinakando) | 19 comments I don't know how I was able to forget how annoying Theon is. *spoiler for chapter 50, I think* He keeps telling himself that he was never treated right by anyone but Robb from the Stark family just to justify his desire of taking Winterfell and, by doing that, impressing his father. He struggles between being mean and basically a true villain, and being a nice, caring lord. It feels good that Bran and Rickon are able to escape and outsmart him. *spoiler over*

Was it just me who felt like G.R.R. Martin was describing PMS in one of Sansa's chapters? She says that she cries over every unimportant and minor thing, but she just can't help it. I know I should be focusing on important stuff, but it't funny how many details you can pick up while reading the book the second time around.

More like post-traumatic stress disorder. And let's not forget her entire existence since her father died is very anxiety-inducing, especially when anything she says can set Joffrey off.

Edit: Not to mention the attack on the streets.

I agree. I think Sansa has gone through so much, even though we're not even finished book 2. A lot of people don't like Sansa but I think they forget that she's still only a child.

I was one of these people for so long! And then I realized that she really is only a child, and under these crappy circumstances, she had to make do with what she was given in order to survive. She literally saw her father beheaded and then had to still be kind to those who killed him, gotta give the poor girl a break.

Totally agree. Theon is a pain.

I think Tyrion makes a statement about Sansa that I just love : "LADY STARK. YOU MAY SURVIVE US YET."
