Ana Bela | 2 comments I cannot log in, cannot change password (it says the message is sent to email but it never comes). And cannot get help because noone ever replies. Even tried to make a new account from another email but it didn't work either 'cause the verification code never reached the new email. Being at my wit's end, found the group here. What is one to do in such a situation?

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 445 comments I think their email is still contact@booklikes.com . That's what http://booklikes.com/contact-us still says.

A lot of my menus have been busted since they got a book database. Maybe you can slide in at one if the URLs I have to use in lieu of working menus:

http://booklikes.com/notification follow the conversations

http://booklikes.com/settings (plus tabs to blog, import, pages and affiliate links)

http://booklikes.com/blog see a dashboard view of just your posts

http://booklikes.com/apps/reading-lists

http://booklikes.com/faq

http://booklikes.com/friends/followers see your followers

http://booklikes.com/goodies/widget goodies tab

http://booklikes.com/template/customize customization tab

Darth Pedant (darthpony) | 5 comments They've been having trouble with their email system for weeks now. This was the last message from BL support in the bug reports thread (dated two weeks ago): Very sorry for this inconvenience, we have temporarly problems with mailing system. Our tech stuff still working on it.

You can try messaging their Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/BookLikes) or Twitter (https://twitter.com/BookLikes). I'm not sure you'll have any more luck that way, though. They seem to be asleep at the wheel over there. :(

Ana Bela | 2 comments Thank you for replying, it's great to get feedback, and so fast, after the Booklikes experience :) I tried the contact mail, no reply. Well, even if it does look hopeless, at least it's good to know it's a systematic problem.

Laurie (barksbooks) (barklesswagmore) They are not responding to emails, to comments, to anything right now. Some stealthy detective work on the part of some members has uncovered that they may have been sold. The new owner's remain silent, just like the old ones. I'll give it a few more months but it's not looking too good.

I tried to login yesterday, had forgotten my password. Never got the confirmation email. No reply from the staff. Good thing to know it seems to be a GL issue

This is odd,I'm not having a problem with BL so far.Knock on wood, not since last month but things seem to have been fixed.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 445 comments They have been responding at http://booklikes.com/thread/176/bug-r... and at least have claimed that they are not sold, not selling, did have email issues, did lose their programmer, are in hiring process...

Lobstergirl Is anyone a member at LibraryThing? I've been plodding along here at GR but today's page redesign just about sent me over the edge....and all the links to the "old site" they keep sticking in the text don't work for me, they just send me back to the newly designed homepage.

Plus I've been banned from Feedback Group for awhile so it's impossible to figure out how to do anything.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 445 comments LibraryThing months back offered a free membership if you downloaded their app so some of us (including myself) did join. Partly in case we needed another site to keep track of each other as Leafmarks went down, goodreads got more and more "soured" and booklikes was being funky (with even less staff activity than Leafmarks had before their shutdown).

Honestly, I still don't like it. Tried before finding Visual Bookshelf, again when that shut down before finding goodreads, and now again with the free app offer -- I still don't like it. I'm halfheartedly trying to echo reviews there which at least works but can't even figure out how to mark a book currently reading. The social and just trying to get updated on what's up with friends, have a conversation ... just not working for me. And older members still very unfriendly to newbies--some groups you don't even want to try to join in even to just have a book discussion.

I'm http://www.librarything.com/profile/S... if anyone wants to friend/follow/whatever-LT-calls-it. But not sure how active a member I'm going to be.

The partial amazon ownership still makes me nervous and while they've changed (probably because of mass data imports from members) to where they now won't stop you shelving books you abandoned or don't want to read so long as tags stay non-negative -- they still discourage it and want only positive libraries without tags like "DNF" and "not for me" (under the guise of limited resources so why would people catalog books they tried or wanted to avoid...).

ETA: weirdly there are a lot of LT cheerleaders here on goodreads jumping in on giveaway conversations telling indie/self-published authors to go there and offer free ebook and print book giveaways even though LT only approves a limited selection. For some reason the cheerleaders have decided to tell authors that anyone can do a giveaway on LT for free leaving out the approval/selection process. Should draw more authors into joining LibraryThing, though, which could cause some site changes.
