Update 1- #Reuse.
GWTW-
Aarti
Arpit

Original- The collection of stories, R. K. Narayan describes how in India “the writer has only to look out of the window to pick up a character and thereby a story.” Composed of powerful, magical portraits of all kinds of people, and comprising stories written over almost forty years, Malgudi Days presents Narayan’s imaginary city in full color, revealing the essence of India and of human experience.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Aarti- What?? Not liking it?

message 23: by Rebecca (new) - added it

Rebecca | 89 comments I loved the Astrologer. in fact there were many stories I liked. Two more to go.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Liking it Arpit. I was expecting morals at the end of each one.

message 25: by Gorab (new)

Gorab (itsgorab) | 3110 comments Moral stories are also good, but many a times endings are pretentious (and unreal) just to provide that moral :)
These are more like snippets from a regular life... you can still draw out morals because every story speaks ;)

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Rebecca wrote: "I loved the Astrologer. in fact there were many stories I liked. Two more to go."

Rebecca, now you must be done, I guess. Liked it?

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Aarti wrote: "Liking it Arpit. I was expecting morals at the end of each one."

Whatttt? Morals?

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, Gorab answered for you. There may not be morals, but there are emotions. "Forty-Five a month" is a such a emotional story. Especially, when he describes his daughter sleeping in pink frock....

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

I have completed the first part, i.e. stories from An Astrologer's Day. It was great. I'm currently on "Wife's Holiday".

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Ishawaran was too much ironic.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

that baby is so cute. Anyways, I got it. I will find my morals :P

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

And talkative man..haha....he rockz....and there is a boy who lives near me and he's just like junior version of Talkative man....

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

Father's help.....Swaminathan returns. And nailed it :)

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

Aarti wrote: "that baby is so cute. Anyways, I got it. I will find my morals :P"

He is. no doubt. especially his expression.
BTW, how much done? Where are you now?

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Aarti wrote: "I think fellow passenger

You mean "Fellow Feeling"? Ohh, then wait, many good stories are yet to come:)
This one was also great. It made me laugh out loud. I think you will love "Forty-Five a month" :)

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey, what's up?

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Aarti wrote: "I am reading talkative man's story."
