As probably (and hopefully :) ) we are all different as authors and bloggers, I think a short intro about what to expect from each blogger may help better organize the cooperation and who to have an eye on.
I will start with I what I currently think should be included in this blogger-bio.
Author genre: Main genre is science-fiction. Secondary is fantasy. But I have to add that I do not care or respect strict categories. (I do have a couple of poems, short stories, etc.)
Author style: Hard science fiction in the meaning that I try to keep it believable, but they are mostly about history, ethics, religions, psychology, sociology. Have a tendency toward dystopic or darker setups or twists.
Blog: Started recently. Apart from own news it contains: Reviews. Interviews. General thoughts related to writings or writing. Useful links. Some free material.
Plans: Collecting a small cache to start a more active blogging period in June. I only do interviews with people I can relate in some form. In exchange they are personal and not 'stock'. (Apart a couple of questions you can hardly avoid of course.)
Twitter: I won't be 24/7 online, but I usually do check in at least once a day and react to what I find. Also starting a #learntoday (non unique) hashtag where I plan to tweet interesting facts from time to time. (Mostly history and science.)
So. These are the areas where I can cooperate most effectively.
Looking forward to see what other members do...
Hi Zoltan,
Thanks for your post but I am confused by it.
The expectation for/from each blogger is to visit each others blogs, leave comments on any relevant blog posts and share post on Twitter.
I think once a week as the barest minimum should suffice to do this for each member. Or would everyone prefer more frequently??
When sharing posts on twitter it is important to include the twitter handle of the person whose post you are sharing and to include the hashtag #SegilolaSalamiBC. This way, we can all monitor how effective we are as a community.
When you say "I will start with I what I currently think should be included in this blogger-bio." Do you mean everyone should post a short introduction to themselves and their blog?
Also when you say "So. These are the areas where I can cooperate most effectively." Do you mean you will only promote bloggers that blog about your genre?

Hi Balie,
Thanks for visiting everyone's blog . . . we can shape the group however way the members feel it's best.
The core of it is about trying to gain exposure for the individual blogs. My followers get to find out about your blog and your followers get to find out about my blog type of thing.
If you have any specific suggestions on what you would like to see, then just start a new thread with the info and everyone can comment on it
Also don't forget to use the hashtag on twitter. This way I can do more retweeting

Thanks, Segilola! I'm starting a new thread! I'm going to try to keep things organized.

It is a slow group, I think it's because we're not sure what to do. First we should all follow each other on Twitter (Goodreads too?). We should aim to visit a different blog every week as the host said. Comment, share as the minimum.
Some blogs I have not been able to access. I don't know if this because the links are faulty or dead, but some I couldn't find. Some, as the host said, are difficult to comment on.
On a positive note, I have followed everyone who has a Twitter account. I will retweet your blogs to my seven thousand followers and expect you all to return the favour soon :)
Can't remember what the hashtag is. Needs to be memorable.

Hi AJ,
You got here in the end :D
I think the basic rules are this
1) visit each other's blogs at least once a week (including mine)
2) comment on at least one blog post
3) if the blogger is on twitter, share their post on twitter
Considering that I have a one year old and time is a premium, I think we should give each other a minimum of one week to return the favour. Like you suggested anyone who doesn't participate will be removed from the group.
I will need you guys to inform me of anyone who doesn't.
As I am very very imaginative ;) the hashtag I have been using for the group so far has been #SegilolaSalamiBC. I doubt I can forget my own name eheheheheheh
I know there are some blogs I have struggled with leaving comments . . . maybe I am being a bit thick. I would appreciate it if you guys can go through all the blogs and anyone you are having problems with let me know and we can let the blog owner know.
Cheers

I am a late joiner. My blog is at dommn2703.blogspot.com. My twitter handle is @maddogmarohn
I, too, had problems commenting on everyone's blogs. There was even one where I couldn't find the blog. It seemed to be just a web page. I guess I have a suggestion: if your blog isn't on your main page, write a link that is called "blog."
Anywho, I'm excited about this group! Thank you for letting me join late.
yeah, I had same prob with him, opened a new thread in the hope that both him n J E would see it
1) tumbler blogs don't have a comment feature nor a sharing one. Is there a way to activate it? or is it there and I'm just not seeing it?
2) is there a way to pre-populate your tweets with your twitter handle? Some of the blogs I visited today had this feature, others didn't. I use the sumome highlighter and that adds my twitter handle but the other social share plugin I use doesn't. I think it would make life so much easier when sharing your pages if your twitter handle is added automatically.
3) a number of blogs have the full post on the main page. I think it would be better to have an excerpt instead. This way, there's less scrolling down to see the other blog topics and to get to the read more button. This way also makes your blog look neater
4) a number of blogs don't have categories. I think you should consider adding some. It makes navigating your blogs so much easier and makes it look neater too.
5) some other blogs too do not have comments or share buttons at the end of each post
6) in some blogs, after leaving a comment, there's no acknowledgement of it. It looks like the post was never made. I am assuming it was held for moderation. if so, I think it would be better if there was something written to that effect
I have visited everyone's blog, left comments where I could and shared them on twitter, unless you do not have a twitter account.
Please feel free to critique my blog/website http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/blog/. How easy was it for you to navigate? Did you have any issues on the site?
What did you think when you visited the other blogs?
