Korynne (korynnem) | 7 comments I read this book many many years ago, so it probably was released in the early 2000s or late 1990s.

I remember there was a girl trapped inside a book who was trying to get out, and every time someone read a chapter, the characters had to go back and reenact the scene in that chapter for the reader, and the girl and other character was getting tired of doing this. So she enlisted the help of one reader who had the book to help the characters get out, I think.

I also distinctly remember a labyrinth. I believe the book was actually called Labyrinth, but I can't find this book anywhere. (I might have this part confused with another book that I can't remember the name of, but I swear there's a labyrinth.)

It's a middle grade or children's fantasy, and it was never a popular book. I can't remember the name of author.

She had a book called Beyond the Labyrinth, but it doesn't sound right. However she had a number of weird books like this so it could be one of the other ones?

Korynne (korynnem) | 7 comments The synopsis for Beyond the Labyrinth doesn't sound right to me.

Holly (hollylovesbooks) | 759 comments The Great Good Thing by Roderick Townley. The sequel to that is called Into the Labyrinth.

ETA: I added links, since I posted this on my phone earlier.

I wonder if The Great Good Thing is the most searched-for book in this group! haha

The Great Good Thing by Roderick Townley for Holly's suggestion.

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments Second Holly's suggestion. I actually ordered that book because of a request on this group. :)

Holly, I counted--The Great Good Thing has been ID'ed 12 times as the book that someone was looking for. The other book that I am personally familiar with for many requests is Invitation to the Game which has also had 12 "finds". These 2 are the ones that I remember the most for people wanting, so I'm thinking that they may be our leading contenders for Most Wanted titles.

Cate | 8 comments Could it be The Eyre Affair or another in the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde? Thursday goes in and out of books with more or less ease through the series, as the plot requires.

Alternatively, might it be The Labyrinth of Dreaming Books?

Shanna_redwind | 852 comments Just came across a book about a girl stuck in a book while i was browsing a digital library. Could it be Poison Pages?

Korynne (korynnem) | 7 comments Thank you for all of these suggestions! So far the one that sounds the most accurate is The Great Good Thing by Roderick Townley. The title and cover aren't familiar to me, but the synopsis matches what I remember, so this must be the right book.

Korynne (korynnem) | 7 comments I just reread the synopses for The Great Good Thing and its second book, Into the Labyrinth. In the second book they are in cyberspace. This has to be the right book because I distinctly remember the words "labyrinth" and "firewall" appearing together in the book.
Thank you to all who helped me discover this childhood book!
