Dee (austhokie) | 1379 comments i have one of her historicals to listen to...shock, horror i'm probably one of the few who is not a fan of her I-team series...

Not for everyone. I like how no one, including her main characters, is safe in her stories.

message 10: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 1379 comments i just find her heroines at times to be exceptionally TSTL - especially when it comes to putting themselves in danger...bk 2 or 3 was really just mind-blowingly idiotic for me

message 11: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 1379 comments followed by in subsequent books, it seems like all these women who were career focused, forget about that and just start having kids (which I know is true at times, but not always) and it just irks me

Hmm, not my experience or takeaway but viva la difference.

message 13: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 1379 comments maybe i notice it more because i'm single and career focused - its why i kind of got turned off lorelei james over the years - because the women seemed to turn into baby making factories

When I was single heading a department of ten women, my group seemed to behave very similarly to the I-Team women. One quit after the fourth child, two managed children and a career, one was a single Mom, etc. The I-Team, at least for me, seems to mirror real life (one left to just be a wife with no kids, one is a freelance writer with three kids, two are still there with kids and marriage). Maybe that's why I'm able to connect with their stories...I've seen them before.

As I said, the differences make things interesting.
