Brienne is one of my favorites. I hope she finds Sansa before anyone else does.

I kind of giggled when the 2 men were talking about riding together and protecting her. She don't need Anyone To protect her!

I now know the back story of why Brienne was so into Renly. I never knew they had met before and he treated her so nicely when she was young.

RIP Renly. You sweet, hot man you!

I love it when Martin repeats a good line. It's as if he becomes obsessed with his own brilliance!!!

Does this chapter add to the progress of the story? I mean I know how much the emphasis on Brienne looking for Sansa but still I thought she will find Sansa or some clue to get to her by the end of the chapter.

Anyway, I already liked Brienne but now knowing that she too is scared not for fighting but for being raped makes me feel sorry for her. Then I cheer up again that we are talking about Brienne here, she is one brave woman! So much loyalty towards a promise made to the dead. So much love for a person who treated her with respect for a few minutes of her life

Vishakha's right - nothing happened in this chapter. And tbh, it was way too long for being so boring, imo. And, well, she's not the brightest person in the 'verse. I mean, think about it, Brienne, of course there would be other people looking for Sansa. Everyone is looking for Sansa. And if I were a highborn lady in hiding, the first thing I'd do is try to make myself not look highborn. I'd try to look differently somehow. I agree, she needs some sort of description when asking around, but "a highborn lady with a fool/knight escorting her"? That's not conspicuous at all.

I'm still in the very beginning of the book and I'm already getting bored, bth. The chapters are longer than ever yet nothing's actually happening. Sigh. Now I remember why it took me so long to finish it the first time. I just want to be over with it, so I can start something new. ADwD was better, but I think I need a break from ASoIaF before starting that one.

Ria I had heard this one was not so great so I made a concious effort to complete it in the first month so I would be refreshed and ready for Sept's A Dance with Dragons. I did my best to read 2 chapters a day plus more on the weekend if possible. It helped a lot and the last quarter of this one became quite good.

Yeah, I was planning to finish the book within four weeks as well - that would've left me with two or three weeks of freedom, because I started later. But I'm reading another book I find super boring and I have a never-ending list of books I want to read as soon as possible and it only seems to be getting longer. And you know how sometimes you have so many things to do, you end up doing nothing? Yeah, well, that's what's happening to me right now :D But I have to push it, the sooner it's over, the more time I'll have to rest before ADwD. Maybe if I read more, I'll eventually be drawn into the story and it will get easier to push through. I'll trust you that it gets better, keeping that hope should help as well.
