We find out a little better what that song of the wise men means basically, wise men are Skilled coteries, and every time they climbed the hill less of them would come back.
I think that the road leads to the source of the Skill. I wonder if the stones of the game have some magical property or if the game is just a way to distract him from the pleasure of the Skill. Now we get confirmation why it wasn't though to everyone, it was taught to the coteries to pull them back. Finally we learn a little bit more about Kettle, she was a coterie member and she Skill-dueled one of her own coterie and killed her ans she got exiled for it. Kettle is one of those that Chade and Catalyst tried to locate, but they where dead or disappeared, probably walking the same road, looking for power? or they where being hunted?
So Catalyst get teleported to the city vie the black stone and he starts seeing the past life of the city, apparently there was a prophecy about the catalyst and how the city would come alive when he was there, that is pretty cool, I like how these prophecies are starting to come into play. So Catalyst finally gets to see the dragon. Catalyst wonders if the Elderlings are the dragons that lived in the city?? Per what he saw on the stained glass I feel that's a hint, since the Elderlings weren't documented properly and different documents depict them in different fashions, nobody know what is and Elderling exactly. Naturally my first question is, can you bond with Wit to a dragon?
Dragons are not a surprise really because we know about the Rain Wild books and they are about dragons.
Catalyst asks the Fool if Nettle is destined to the throne of the six duchies, he tells him to ask him in 20 years where everything has happened and he can give a better answer, I think that's really what's going to happen and the focus of Fool's Assassin. Also there is an important prophecy abut the Catalyst's child, so I think this might be it.
Winged beasts but they are alive because he can sense them with the Wit, but the are frozen in time or hibernating, I wonder if they are going to wake them up?
That revelation about Starling being raped by red ship raiders was rough, worst that when Molly was abused by her father.
