I've been working on my story for around 2 months now, and am having trouble with the plot. I'm started to work on another different story now. Thoughts?

How long have you been writing your current project?

Iesha (In east shade house at...) (emberblue) | 150 comments I have about five stories that I have been working on for at least two years now, and both(Two of my main ones out of the five) have yet to get pass the first few chapters. However, I already have both stories plan out-I know the major scenes, and I know the world(more or less), but I'm so picky with my story that I have yet to push pass that to finishing. In addition, i have many ideas for new stories-I just haven't wrote them out on paper.

I've had my characters planned for almost a year, and I've know it's a dystopia for just as long, but I just decided on the best storyline today. :)

CrowCaller (crow-caller) I think my current one started about..a two months ago? Not very long! But I write at bizarrely superhuman speeds, so it's about halfway done ahahahha. But it's a sequel, so if we're going by how long the whole world has been around, it's about... uh, I think a year and a half old? It started as a nano project two novembers ago, so yeah.
It's weird to put dates on these things. I don't normally think of these things!

Lura (luraj2612) | 113 comments Depends on the story.

I have one I started 8 or 9 years ago, but I've put it on hold to work on other projects.

Most of the others have only been around for somewhere between 2 and 5 years.

The one I worked on most recently is one I started in January 2013. I have the first draft finished, but it's not quite right story-wise, so I've completely restarted it with the second draft.

Then there's the flash fiction pieces I started last week. ^_^

Lura (luraj2612) | 113 comments I've been working more on short stories recently, so I've actually finished something. ^_^

Last week, I wrote an edited a short story in 5 days. (Word count: just under 2000.)

Almost immediately after finishing that one, I started work on a second one. That was Friday. I have just over 1100 words. I need to work on it some more (especially as it's for a 25th deadline) but the screen on my laptop died and the monitor hurts my eyes too much to be on it for long. :(

A (parishing) | 4 comments The novel I'm working on now (and am thankfully almost finished with) I started writing six years ago. Yes, six years. But while that seems like a super long time, I'm actually glad it's taken me this long. When I first started, I had ideas of the characters in my head and they've completely changed to what they are now. In the time it took me to write, the backstory and character motivations have evolved and I prefer the story the way it is now to how I originally planned it. I started writing when I was very young (eighteen) and now that I'm older, I'm able to write in a more mature voice and my characters seem like real people now, rather than just caricatures like in my original draft.

Roxanne Shriver (roxannexshriver) Almost 9 years now... O_O I had no idea it's been so long!

I USED to write FANFICTIONS back around (2011-2013). But I stopped doing those(I still do sometimes just not as often).

I started writing my own original stories in 2014 and I'm still writing and editing.

I started writing my own songs in 2013.
