Benjamin Thomas | 104 comments Hi all, how is your reading going? We're at the midpoint of the 2016 100 book reading challenge.

Uhh...I'm currently 13 books behind. Yikes! June has been a bit slow for me. I have to change my strategy to get caught up, but it shouldn't take long.
I've got some short stories lined up, a few audio books, short craft books and thrillers to keep me going.

Keep plugging away and stay focused!

Benjamin

Faith (faithpotts) I've read 74 books so far... I think I'll make it. ;)

That's awesome! Wish I was that close. You'll make it no problem.

message 4: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (jessical1961) I am one book ahead of schedule, down from 5 books ahead just a couple of weeks ago.

message 5: by Wombat (new)

Wombat I am glad I got way ahead in the beginning of the year - just about to hit 80 books (need to write a review still) but just moved countries and the books have been going MUCH slower now :(

But still think i'll make it.

Joanne Roberts | 22 comments I'm at 99, but the picture books don't count towards my challenge goal, so I'm actually only about halfway. Been fighting a cold for a few days, but at least it provides more time to read! Just finished Kenneth Oppel's "Airborn" and LOVED it!

message 7: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (ltg584) | 6 comments I'm about 6 books ahead of schedule. Fingers crossed that I can keep up the pace!

message 8: by Alayna (new)

Alayna Mitchell | 10 comments I've read 52 books out of my 100, and am five books ahead of schedule.

message 9: by Anders (new)

Anders Kristiansen | 1 comments I've read 47 books now, which puts me more or less exactly on schedule. So far, this is easier than I expected it to be (which is not to say it's easy, cause it's not, but when I started the challenge I didn't really think I would manage it). Looking forward to a lot of reading this summer!

message 10: by Rick (new)

Rick Presley | 18 comments Falling well behind. Only at 32. Can't recall if it's because I haven't added all the books I've read or if it really is that low. I suspect it's the former reason.

I'm behind too actually--7 books according to Goodreads. But I just bought a bunch of books, so that's giving me incentive (read: pressure) to read more steadily. :p

Keep your head up guys! We can do this. If it were easy, it wouldn't be a challenge at all. Just set your sight on the prize, sacrifice, set aside, read and prioritize. (and no, I'm not a rapper.)

Read on!

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 21 comments I'm done...110 read.

Dang. I guess you weren't messing around. Awesome!

Joanne Roberts | 22 comments I went to a library sale this week and came home with a stack. There's nothing more motivating than a new stack of books urgently calling your name. I'll bet there's a library sale near you this month!

message 16: by TM (new)

TM | 3 comments I'm at 82 out of 100, about same pace as last year.

message 17: by Candace (new)

Candace | 3 comments Well, I am about a quarter into the 100 (25)! Haha! Between work, contract work and my own writing, reading has taken a back seat! Things are slowing down here now for the summer, so I am looking forward to getting a few short reads in! And maybe I will try the strategy of buying myself a few books that have been on my list to read for awhile :)

message 18: by Ien (new)

Ien Nivens | 5 comments Reading more than I'm posting to Goodreads. Need to attend to that, huh?

message 19: by Celeste (new)

Celeste Villarreal | 1 comments I haven't been posting to Good Reads, but I am keeping track on a page on my blog. Only at 21, so way behind. I gave myself an early christmas present of 10 one year magazine subscriptions which take up a lot of my reading time, but I can't justify throwing them out without reading them, no matter how good the deal was!

message 20: by Chad (new)

Chad Hoblitz (codewitch) | 9 comments I have 30 so far

message 21: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Thomas | 104 comments I'm reading some good short stories and enjoying an audiobook by David Baldacci. Catching up fast! Well, sort of. 38 books and counting.

message 22: by LittleBookDruid (new)

LittleBookDruid | 9 comments Way behind. Goodreads tell I am 17 books behind schedule.

message 23: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (jessical1961) I am right on track, according to Goodreads. I have just finished book number 50 of 100.

Which one are you listening to? I'm listening to the third one in the Will Robie series and wish they had stuck with a single narrator and no sound effects. Otherwise, Baldacci is OK. Pretty much brain candy, but a nice switch from work-related stuff.

Wayne | 4 comments 59% done with the 100

message 26: by Karen (new)

Karen Cooper | 4 comments Well, I am behind right now at 28 books read. Non-fiction is slowing me down this year. ;) I'm adding more non-fiction audio books to get ahead. Gonna plow through some great fiction to up my count, too. Trying to notice any minute or opportunity I could be reading and taking advantage. (Even as I do dishes or laundry, etc. Hee hee.)

Hey Rick, it's Memory Man. The narrator is right on the money. Thoroughly enjoying it right now. Nice switch up from the normal routine.

That's the name of the game. I'm doing the same with some short reads and audiobooks to catch up. Then I'll dive into my mainstream novels and nonfiction yummies.
