It looks like July will be the month of "second book in the series" for me. I'm reading Bride of a Distant Isle with Beth and Hannah.

Bride of a Distant Isle (Daughters of Hampshire, #2) by Sandra Byrd

Also have these as hope to get to in July. Anyone interested? All are second in the series.

The Reluctant Duchess (Ladies of the Manor, #2) by Roseanna M. White Anchor in the Storm (Waves of Freedom, #2) by Sarah Sundin Hearts Made Whole (Beacons of Hope, #2) by Jody Hedlund Two Roads Home (Chicory Inn, #2) by Deborah Raney Almost Like Being in Love (Destination Wedding #2) by Beth K. Vogt

message 9: by Christine (new)

Christine | 549 comments Chantel and Hannah, are you still interested in doing a buddy read for Burning Sky by Lori Benton in July? I have it in process to receive it from an interlibrary loan within the next few days, though I'm still plugging away through Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen :)

message 10: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1139 comments I think I could fit it in... I own the book.

If you wait until August, it can be counted toward the August Award Winners Challenge. I'd be interested in reading it then, if it's not already checked out of the library by someone else.

message 12: by Christine (new)

Christine | 549 comments Well it's an interlibrary loan, coming from another library, so it'd be best for me to read it when it arrives - it's quite a process for the library to order it, etc., but thanks for the suggestion.

It's totally up to you. Not a problem if it doesn't work out :)

message 14: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1139 comments I could read it better later in the month; I have some library books checked out right now that I need to get to.

Oh, I didn't realize that. I know they need to be read right away.

message 16: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1139 comments Sounds like a hassle! There are 10 interrelated libraries in my area, so if one doesn't have it, they get it brought over from another. So easy!

That's great Carolyn!! One of the benefits of Goodreads is learning about new books. Love that!

Sounds good Hannah! Just let me know if you are interested.

Yeah, sort of a hassle, but I just try to plan around it. I am from a small town, so only so many libraries around. Sometimes they have to get a book from out of state and wherever they get it from it can take up to 2 weeks to get a book. Such is life I guess!

I am a fairly slow reader, so when you end up starting it, I may still be reading it, though if it's as good as her last two I may not be able to put it down!

message 21: by Marion (new)

Marion | 124 comments Lindsey, I'd be interested to reread Kisses from Katie for a buddy read. Buddy reads can be either open discussion or specific discussion questions. Your choice! Once a timeframe is established to read (ie July 20-August 19), Loraine or one of the BR participants starts a thread with the book synopsis. They're fun!
