Hey all, is the book thief any good? Its been highly praised but no one I know has read it

Hi Nikky, I have not but really interested in it. :-)
The Book Thief is incredible, definitely one I wouldn't mind re-reading!!

That says a lot for it if you are willing to read it again!

Even The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeannette Walls is also a good one.
Sarah's key is in my TBR :)
Others I am hearing for the first time and glad to know them :)

Kate Andersen Brower has also written The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House which is on my read list.
Thanks all, looks like I need to add it the list to read :)

I have heard almost nothing but positive reviews for The Book Thief. I have a copy. I started it a few years ago but my attention strayed. I cheated and watched the movie, which I loved. I plan to start it again at some point. Maybe if we choose it for book group?

Happy Friday, Snails! I'm going to post a fiction poll tonight to get feedback on some titles. I'm going to include The Book Thief! I won't be annoying you all anymore with poll invites; I hope you're checking in often so you don't miss the voting!
Hey Snails! Polls closed today and the majority (8 votes) voted for "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak! You'll have plenty of time to round up a copy if you don't already have one. We'll be reading it slowly for the next few months.
