Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Wow, Barb, that's quite an impressive list—and well selected, too! If you felt moved at some point (perhaps when you’ve got a good procrastination going on!), we’d love to see your ratings for the books, or even a word or two of comment. You’re well on your way to Mr. Bennet’s library!

Mary | 452 comments 42 books,Barb?! Amazing!! Well done! You'll be joining the others in Mr B's library before you know it! In fact I see smell the furniture polish from here,so eager are they to welcome you!!!

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments Great list, Barb. I always enjoy reading your reviews, so I knew you had a growing pile of books. Nice to see them all in a handy list here.

Meredith (Austenesque Reviews) (merry816) | 31 comments Wow! Go, Barb! :)

message 10: by Barb (new)

Barb (barblibrarian1) You guys are all so great! Thanks for the encouragement.

Susan, I noticed after I wrote my review that Mary Weston's book was no longer on Amazon. I was wondering about that. I did not give it a good review. Is it possible the author pulled it to make some changes? I don't know.

I added my 1-5 star rating for each, Abigail. Thanks for mentioning it!

message 12: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Thanks, Barb! I see you’re stingy with your 5-star ratings; I’ll watch to see what really gets you excited.

I guess maybe I am a bit stingy with them. I read so much in my work that I may not be as excited as others by a book. You make me want to go back and rethink them! lol I can truly enjoy a book and admire an author but still give them a 4 star. I am the same way about films. Just looking for that something extra for the 5 star. You can see I gave one to A Remedy Against Sin. I thought the entire premise to be unique and to be a complete package - totally wrapped up with a bow. I found it worth the 5 stars.

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments Oh, that's such a sweet, romantic novella! I gave it 5 stars when I read it, too.

I'm looking at your previous list and wondering whether you plan to continue reading the Bennet Wardrobe series. I intend to read the full-length book about Mary soon.

Yes, I certainly do. I just finished the first today, but like the whole initial concept. Finishing a 500 page book for my book club that meets tomorrow night! Arggh! But, it is good - The Shadow of the Wind (The Cemetery of Forgotten Books, #1) by Carlos Ruiz Zafón The Shadow of the Wind

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments Just awesome, Barb! You've read some great books so far this year!

message 23: by Barb (new)

Barb (barblibrarian1) thank you, Mary and Debbie. I have had some fun reads this year!

message 25: by Barb (new)

Barb (barblibrarian1) I am so busy getting ready for my trip to Europe that I am afraid I will have less time for reading, much less reviewing. So, I think for a while I will just be rating the books and not adding reviews.

message 26: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments Trip to Europe???!! Wow! Good for you! And a perfectly reasonable reason. I'm behind on my reviews, too, and I'm not even getting ready for an exciting trip. When do you leave? Where in Europe? How long are you staying? Deets, girlfriend!

message 27: by Barb (new)

Barb (barblibrarian1) I am going to Poland on October 4 to speak English to students there who are learning English but have never had the chance to speak to a native English speaker. So, I am excited. 10 schools in two weeks! Some of the schools I am doing 5 or 6 groups of 30 kids in the day. Should be pretty wild! So, I am doing more than packing - I am preparing my presentations and Skyping with the teachers to make sure all is set. Then, a few days in England on the way home. Will come home on Nov 1. Going alone - hubby staying home with the dog. I still plan on reading between now and then, and while there, but so much energy to write the reviews! I just don't have it in me right now. Maybe I will go back later....

You certainly have a good reason for not being caught up, too!

Sounds awesome. It ought to be a wonderful experience. Do you speak any Polish?

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments I read this series and thought it was pretty good, but I was annoyed by the high price. The first and second books hooked me so I had to complete the series, but I resented it and stayed away from this author's subsequent P&P-based series.

From Longbourn to Pemberley (Seasons of Serendipity, #1-4) by Elizabeth Ann West But, given how many books we are attempting to read this year, it does put a dent into the budget - for sure! And, she sells them for less on her own website.

Barb (barblibrarian1) I just updated my "books I own" bookshelf to make sure I have every book I own as an Amazon Kindle book listed. If anyone is looking for a Kindle version of a book, I am happy to lend mine out. I was surprised how many I own, and I even own some I have on my TBR list that I didn't know I owned!

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments I added Going Home to Pemberley: A Pride & Prejudice Continuation to my TBR pile after reading your review. I'm not always a big fan of sequels as opposed to variations, but from your description, this sounds like one of the better ones. Great list of reads, Barb!

I have to say, though, that I was a little surprised to see some of the bad reviews this one received. I really loved it and will be curious to see which way you see it.

message 48: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments I've noticed a couple of times now that you and I have gone opposite the flow of most other reviewers, so I think our standards of judging quality are similar. With the size of my TBR pile, though, who knows when this one will make it to the head of the line!

message 50: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments 125,Barb? Wow! You might hit 130 before the year is out! Great job!
