Marti (coloreader) 1. Significant other? Children? Pets? I have been married 32 years to the same guy. I have three children, all in their 30's, two boys and a girl. One DIL and one SIL. One granddaughter, who will be two in October. I have one dog, two geriatric cats and three chickens.

2. What do you do for a living? I am retired now, but I worked in an elementary school, a high school and a school library. I was also a Jr. Great Books facilitator.

3. What is your favorite color? Green!

4. What destination would be your dream vacation? I would like to attend one of the grand slams of tennis. NY, Wimbledon, Melbourne, Paris. Doesn't matter!

5. What is your favorite book genre? Historical fiction.

6. Who are three of your favorite authors? Margaret Atwood, Stephen King, Fanny Flagg.

7. What's your favorite word? Family.

8. What actress/actor should play you a film in your life story? Kathy Bates.

9. Will you tell us a funny or favorite story about yourself? I got kicked out of Kindergarten. I had been in preschool for two years and thought I knew it all. I told my teacher just that!

10. What are your hobbies? Reading, sewing, crafting, tending my chickens.

11. Where is your favorite place to read? In bed or a lounge chair on my deck.

12. What is your favorite sport to watch or play? Broncos football!

13. What was your favorite subject in school? English. D'uh!

14. How are you creative? Mostly sewing and crafting. I make teddy bears for the new babies in the family and last year I made everyone in my immediate family (7) a Christmas ornament.

15. What is your favorite sandwich? Toss up between a bison burger or a reuben.

16. What do you think is your very best feature or characteristic? I don't have many wrinkles for an old lady!

17. If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like and what would it be for? A family birthday party. We had one for my daughter just today.

18. If you could paint a picture of anything, what would you paint? The Rocky Mountains. I'm a born and bred Colorado kid.

19. If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet? Pope Francis. He fascinates me.

20. What’s your favorite comfort food? Chocolate anything.

BONUS Tell us three things about yourself not covered in these questions. I am a two time cancer survivor. I can cook, but I hate to. I'm still best friends with my seventh grade BBF. 47 years so far!

I loved participating in Jr Great Books when I was in 7th and 8th grade ... although I have to admit I could not finish Moby-Dick; or, The Whale.
