This is from a conversation I had the other day with someone who buys hundreds of those 50p books with titles like 'Virgin Prince's Princess Bride' and 'Daylight fantasy magical lovers' and reads them as a guilty pleasure but NEVER watches TV. I prefer to watch talk shows while they read those. And silly documentries about topics no one really cares about.

Do you prefer mind numbing day-time TV, or do you like to read those really cheaply done books that you get at spinny racks at supermarkets?

Kamil | 187 comments I like both, but recently I've cu down on the dumb tv shows.

I prefer to go for a walk in the country. TV is just noise and trashy books can be fun once every 25 years or so.

J. David Clarke (clarketacular) | 418 comments I'm a sucker for guilty pleasure TV. I watch a LOT of television, and at least half of them are fun / guilty pleasure shows.

Brian Basham (brianbasham) | 390 comments I like documentaries on Netflix. Anything that seems informative. I also enjoy anything that talks about the paranormal, aliens, conspiracy theories, etc.. A lot of those types of shows twist the facts to make their point, but it's still interesting to see the points they make where they don't twist everything. I saw one documentary recently about JFK's assassination where they explained how the "magic bullet" actually worked. They repositioned the bodies in the car to where they were when the shot actually went off and showed how the bullet actually moved in a straight line.

I'd prefer to listen to some music instead.
OH! Scratch that. TV it is. I usually read emails (mostly goodreads posts) on my IPad while the TV is on when I'm not too interested in what's playing. I couldn't do that while reading now could I? :P

Samantha Strong (samanthalstrong) | 206 comments I like watching HGTV type shows (House Hunters, etc) or What Not To Wear. But usually only if I'm sick or take a few days off work.

Carl tv-- less time wasted indulging in vacuity.
