The categories for September and October are:

September- Banned Book / Books I read in High School theme

October - Horror / Halloween theme


If you nominate the book, and the book is chosen as a group read, you agree to lead the discussion for that month! Don't worry, it's not hard, and we'll love you all the more for it!

Please do not nominate a book more than once. A book can only be voted on once, so multiple nominations within this thread are not counted.

Only ONE nomination per month per person.


Please be sure to post the title, author, and the month you are nominating it for.

Ideally, you can type it as follows -
August - Room - Emma Donoghue

If your post does not have those three things, it will not be counted.

Once I close nominations I will create the polls and let you know when it is time to vote!

I have been having a hard trying to come up with a proper book for the Sept. topic, but it's a bit difficult., maybe a little too limiting. I don't want to reread anything I read in high school, I'd rather read something new.

Robert, you know, I guess I never thought of it as rereading something you've already read, though now I can see that. I was thinking more like, you know how sometimes, depending on your school district or (ahem) your age group, you may not have read something that was assigned to others. So you could look at it as "Books That Are Commonly Read in High School"??? Does that help?

My September nominee is a 'banned/challenged' book, as was also the topic for that month, correct? I think THAT was the confusing part.

Oh, yes. You are fine with your nomination. I was just commenting on your comment about it "Books Read in HS" as limiting.
