I had my book trailer made two weeks ago and I'm just now getting it up at youtube it is located at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvKxp...
I had it created by a man from fiverr.com and it was so inexpensive and I thought it was very good. I would deeply appreciate it if you would watch it and tell me the what you think of it.
I have it on pinterest, my facebook page, youtube, godtube.
What results have you had with using a book trailer? And what do I need to know? Thanks for your help. I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Rita Chapman | 185 comments Hi Joan. I just watched your book trailer and I thought it was very good. It gets the message over very well and the chosen music is just right.

I've never made a book trailer so I can't help you with promoting it, but I hope it has the desired result.

Joan Cox | 9 comments Rita, thanks so much for your positive feedback. We spend so much time writing our book, which is the fun part of the writing experience. It's the book promotion that seems to take so much time, and we have to reach out to other authors to help us learn their best way to reach their audience. I wish you well on promoting your book. If I discover an excellent result I'll let you know.

Hi Joan, Your book trailer is very nice and compelling.

Joan Cox | 9 comments Thanks so much Kimberly. I deeply appreciate you kind input. I just sent you a friend request. I gave my cardiologist one of my books because he has been so great to my husband, and he said he learned a great deal and that anyone who read it would learn something. I wish he had time to put that up as a review at Amazon. I guess his practice of 30 years keeps him too busy to do a review. Ha! Let me know about your daughters books.
Your friend in the service of Jesus Christ,
Joan Jessalyn Cox

Milton Gene | 6 comments Hi, Joan, I'm a Christian author. My Kindle ebook, THE SHINING PATH has changed many readers perception of this world and their relationship to it. My hope is that many will see how much more fulfilling life will be when they take the path that God has for them. My experiences with our loving Savior are illustrated. Read it and review it. If price is a problem, email or tweet and I will gift you a book. Let me know your book you would have me to read and review. Blessings, MILTON.

Linda Dobinson (baspoet) Hi Joan,

I just watched your trailer and it is really very good. I have never done a book trailer so I would be interested to know if you feel it was worth the expense.

message 8: by Joan (new)

Joan Cox | 9 comments Hi Linda, thanks for your kind comment on the book trailer. Yes I believe after it's fully promoted in a number of places on the internet I believe it will be worth it. Now, I'm going to tell you how inexpensive it was. I was actually waiting until someone referred to the expense before I gave them this lovely bit of advice.

Have you heard of fiverr.com? That lovely book trailer only cost me $105.00 are you amazed? I found a cinematographer from Australia who was wonderful to work with. I basically came up with the text I wanted and the story line. Which I really had to pray about because it's a little more difficult to use a story line to present something attention getting for a nonfiction book.

The cinematographer's name is Arvon Gould. I Hope you invest in a book trailer it would probably be good for H is for Hawk. I haven't read any of it yet but I saw your book cover.

Writing the book is where an author receives the most enjoyment.

The journey of promoting a book, then having anyone to read it and review it is the hardest part of becoming that hopefully best selling author we all hope to be. However, when we all share our experiences we will all be part of other authors way to successful outcomes.

Linda when you get your book trailer done please let me know I would be happy to see it.

Friends,
Joan Jessalyn Cox

Linda Dobinson (baspoet) Thanks for the info. I have heard of fiverr, I think I looked it up when I was looking for an artist to do the cover. I probably would not do one for my poetry books but I am writing a novel at the mo, so I might for that.

Joan Cox | 9 comments The Spirit of Truth Is Power Reviving Faith in Jesus Christ by Joan Jessalyn Cox Ryan wrote: "I've heard a lot of mixed results from book trailers, but it is an interesting thought."
How ironic is this post Ryan, I was just finishing the following to post when I saw you had mentioned the book trailer. That's amazing isn't it?

The Spirit Of Truth Is Power: Reviving Faith In Jesus Christ is the first book in the Foundational Faith In Truth Series.

I have spent a lifetime seeking the Lord Jesus Christ's truth through scriptures. Lessons taught in the bible studies of each book in the series of twelve books, represent persistence in prayer and Bible study that my husband and I have had during our lifetime.

It's my desire that this study of Jesus Christ's love and truth will inspire you to seek the Lord's will for your life, and that it will give you enough of the full truth of God's word to fulfill your place in God's will for your unique life.

Nothing can take the place of reading the Holy Bible for yourself, but there are many books that are supportive that can add value to your Christian experience. I hope you enjoy the rewards of delving deeper into the Bible and discovering a new depth of understanding. The Foundational Faith In Truth series is dedicated to teaching Christians more indepth studies to prepare them for their part in the last Great Revival.

The ebook is only 99¢ for a short time! Here is the Amazon link:

https://www.amazon.com/Spirit-Truth-P...

Watch the Book Trailer at Youtube.com

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvKxp...

I'm actually testing whether I should keep it at 99¢ or not since I've had it at that price for a while
and it hasn't done as well at that price. So I'm seriously thinking that I will raise it back to the $2.99
before I start my facebook advertising. I would appreciate any feedback on this decision.

I thought you might like to view my book trailer as well, since I'm thrilled with it's cinematography. I got
it produced at such a reasonable price at fiverr.com. I had to submit the text but I was very pleased how
well it turned out. Once again, I would appreciate any feedback.

Raúl Gilo | 20 comments Hi, all.
Besides using the booktrailer, I am also posting videos - related to the book topics - which, indirectly, are also promoting the book by mentioning it at the end. This is an example:

hope you like it!

Wendi Wilson | 1 comments I had a short teaser trailer made for FB ads. I started the ad yesterday, and while it's getting some clicks, it hasn't resulted in any sales yet. I may need to tweak my audience..... Anyway, it's pretty darn cool:

I bought an animation programme, and performed the music. :) Can't say it's really done anything for me, though ....

message 19: by David (new)

David Lowry (httpwwwgoodreadscomdavidlowry) | 1 comments As a video marketer for the music and game industry. A video is only as good as the places you put it and the amount you share it. A video alone will do nothing for you if you are not using it to generate buzz. Secondly, Fiverr is a cheap way to get stuff done, but with subpar results and very insulting to professionals. It's like me asking you to sell your book for .25 cents. All of the video's featured here are incredibly basic and do little to capture the imagination. You get what you pay for, especially when it comes to marketing. However, I have seen some videos that people charge way to much for. Trailers are an essential part of any products marketing strategy. The problem is, you have to have the strategy, otherwise it's a waste of money.

message 20: by Sam (new)

Sam | 34 comments Video has potential for authors, but you probably need to have already built a following on social media, in the first instance. Who is this funny looking guy, who talks oddly? could be the reaction. A well known author's video production will likely be intriguing and if he or she is unprepossessing might even enhance the wow factor. How the hell does that geek write so beautifully? Videos are especially worthwhile for the young and beautiful author and particularly authoress, although in modern parlance everyone is just plain author or actor. You perhaps also need to think you look great when you talk to an audience. I don't get that feeling that people will necessarily stop texting to watch me on a screen for more than a few seconds.

message 21: by Clare (new)

Clare O'Beara | 188 comments Hi,

I've made a few book trailers myself as I am currently learning this skill in college for a digital journalism degree. I'm about to put them up on my webspace and Youtube. These are for my SF books.
I have found that SF authors have great trailers, and advertise them in their newsletters. Readers are inclined to check out a book trailer rather than the latest in a series of posts. However, SF fans are sophisticated viewers.
Some authors will promote other authors' trailers too. Find an author similar to you and offer to do a promotion swap.
