Davos should think about being a spy. I don't think there is much hope in White Harbor. Poor Davos.

gam s (Haveyouread.bkk) (siyxx) | 100 comments Poor guy being super loyal to Stannis. Nothing much from this chapter, really (like I don't see where would this whole thing lead to). At least there's mention of Dany like it's quite obvious that more people becoming aware of her existence and her activities. But nothing much really.

It was more talk than anything.

Brianna (bebecburt) | 562 comments This chapter felt really unnecessary. I understand Davos wanting to know what was happening there, but for us as readers it wasn't really vital to have a whole chapter dedicated to this... lol

It was hard for me to get through this chapter. I would have to agree that it seems unnecessary.

Ria (ban1chka) | 440 comments You know, I actually like Davos's chapters. All the others are full of scheming and the characters trying to outplay each other. Davos's thoughts are always very straightforward. He's a simple-minded but extremely loyal man. He's just so different from everybody else we read about, his chapters are a breath of fresh air. Perhaps a bit boring, but kind of nice and simple. Just like Davos himself. And I think he's one of the very few people who actually know and understand Stannis. We see what Jon and some other characters think about him, but Davos is the only one who can give us a clear picture, a clear window into Stannis's mind and I think perhaps that's one of the reasons he's a viewpoint character in the first place.

RJ - Slayer of Trolls (hawk5391yahoocom) You're right Ria, Davos is very simple and straightforward. I just wish he had a little more action in his storyline. It's odd that his chapters are always among the least interesting, along with the Dorne chapters (at least we are mercifully done with the Catelyn chapters). Not sure why it should be so - from a 10,000 foot view there's nothing about Davos that's less interesting than anyone else. Maybe he's just so much less egotistical and warped than everyone else in these books he just looks tame by comparison.
