This is the chapter after which I had to set The book down for a while. I will pick it up again after a long break.
Xaro wants everything to go back to normal. He must make a lot of money through slavery.
I think Dany made the right choice by staying. You can't leave someone undefended, especially if you want change. Everything is still too new, and so much rebellion that she needs to stay and fix things properly. Westeros can wait, sadly. She wont have the best welcome home party. She will return and have to defeat the White Walkers. No luck for her.

Also I was yawning so hard reading this chapter like omg I almost didn't make it. *sigh* My jaw hurts.
You don't like Dany so much do you Siya. Lol.

lol Dany's fine I guess, but I'm not sure I like the way her journey has turned out. I mean, Martin has rid old characters from the story (Jorah, the bloodriders, Daario) and then repeatedly introduced new characters (I don't really care about) into her storyline. It's been 5 volumes and she doesn't even know much about Westeros, which was supposed to be her priority. I find that a bit annoying.

"A poor city that once was rich. A hungry city that once was fat. A bloody city that once was peaceful."
I wonder if the Doom was a natural disaster? Talking of how there wasn't a Smoking Sea or Valyria wasn't an island yet when looking at that map...
So the people on the ships are going to war with her?
He gave her ten? Ships as a gift to go away. Right? Or that is what I took from it.
I have so much trouble with Dany chapters. She always falls short of what she could be. What she should be. She could be a great character but in always left feeling she just doesn't measure up. She bores me.

Ok. Time to pick this up again. I have no idea what was going on in the story but this is the last chapter that I read. I think I will go and read some chapters summaries as a refresher.

He gave her 13 ships, one from each of the merchants of his guild, and when she refused to sail to Westeros, he set them on fire (I think).

Haha! Me too!

I never thought she was interesting. I have always thought she could be so much better than she is.
