Would The Lake House work? The book description describes the MC as 16 year old girl who loves to write stories.

It's been a while since I read it, but I think the 1913 portions feature Eliza. You may need to flip through the book.

Double checking on Magpie Murders - One MC is an editor of crime novels and the other is an author of crime mysteries. I'm sure the book works, but just want to make sure the book description is adequate when I post it. :)
