I read mostly fantasy, but dip into most genres at some time or another. Off the top of my head some of my favorite books this year have been American Gods (Gaiman), The Maddaddam trilogy (Atwood), Prodigal Summer (Kingsolver), the Mistborn trilogy (Sanderson), and Carry On (Rowell).

American Gods is superior. I am looking forward to the coming movie! I've read Atwood and some Sanderson, but am unfamiliar with Roswell.
