that was really kind of cool! this book started slow, and i thought it would be similar to the last one (which i liked, but not really loved), but the final half is really cool. the rescue of Nevara by Lisana was absolutely fabulous. some sort of ents indeed, even though in that scene the ents threw rocks rather than use their roots to destruct.

epiny getting the magic is very nice too. i think lisana is right when she said 'this one would serve the magic better', her immediate thought of using the explosives was kick-ass. but i liked it even more when we found out it was amzil who did it. (even if she blew up the wrong thing first, at least it caused enough distraction).

a bit sad that he again left them thinking he was dead. and i guess we really lost lisana now as well, so no-one to tell epiny :s

David Sven (gorro) | 567 comments I guess that means we are going to have a bigger Epiny next book?

it should, only he didn't really comment on Hitch being any bigger than 'normal', so not everyone who has magic will be as fat as Nevara, he is a great-great-great one :)

Ctgt | 38 comments Nice Hanne! :)

Finally! There were some pretty good twists at the end and I am looking forward to the last book.

I wonder what the magic might do to the baby?

That should be interesting. Maybe it'll be a fat baby? Though as Hanne pointed out, not everyone gets fat with the magic.

Since she often got described as a tiny woman i hope for her that the baby isn't going to be 'great' when he/she comes out! poor epiny.

I highlighted that same segment, Alex. It really drove the point home for me that even when you think you are doing what is right, if you don't have all the facts you can make some terrible decisions.

Yes, i wasn't really surprised, but it was still supercool to see it happening. It all made me wonder why on earth he took so long to have her involved. If anyone could help him, it was going to be Epiny.

Nevare has definitely burned all ties to Gettys and his old life now. As far as everyone's concerned, he's dead, and now he's free to pursue his new life with the magic and ..."

Yes! I trust he's finally done with trying to live in both worlds.
