Hey everyone!
Soon our book club starts with "Of Poseidon" by Anna Banks! I'm really excited to read this book and to share my opinion with you!
What do you expect from this book? How do you like it so far etc.?

Please be sure to use the right section to tell us your opinion so nobody gets accidentally spoiled!

Happy reading!

QUESTION for this section: How do you like the characters so far? Do you identify or sympathsize with them? Any situation so far you really liked/disliked?

I know I only commented on the last section a short while ago, but it's Sunday so I'm doing a bit of binge reading.

Ten chapters in and I'm still not too fond of this book. The storyline is kind of interesting, but the way it's written and the way Emma reacts to everything seems dull to me. I like Toraf and Rachel, but they're about the only characters I have positive feelings about. All the others get on my nerves with how they act and just the personality traits they've shown so far.

I don't really feel the chemistry that Galen and Emma are supposed to have. I know it's supposed to be there, but it feels forced rather than genuine.

I'm not really loving this story so far, but again, we'll see how it goes.

I have similar feelings about this novel...
I am annoyed by almost every character especially by Galen and Emma when they are together. In my opinion the author used her brain concussion and the storm as excuses so Emma and Galen are forced to be together. That scene when Emma is temporarily blind and takes a nap on Galen's lap just made me cringe so hard...
Another issue is the bad worldbuilding in my opinion. I had to read the explanation twice before I understood the relations of Poseidon and Trition.

And that fight between Emma and Rayna:

Stine I agree with both of you. That scene where Emma is blind, I didn't get it.
And why is Rayna being so mean to Emma? Because she doesn't know what she is? And accusing her of killing Chloe herself?! Wow...
