I failed miserably in reading during the month of October and I hope to fix that in the month of November so why don't you tell us what you've read during the month and lets compare notes.

Sophie (sophiesworld) Well, I didn't do too well. I think 2 books in a month is alright though! My health has been worse and most of the last couple of months so I haven't even been able to focus, even on audiobooks most of the time.

I did finish/*** 'Dream a little dream' by Giovanni Fletcher. ***I don't know how to post it so there's a picture of the book with a link or if that's possible whilst on a smartphone.

I listened to most of it at x1.4 speed because it was so slow moving. It was light chick lit and the characters and connection and chemistry between them was appealing - I particularly liked Sarah's close relationship with her best friend (friends relationship not relationship relationship). I kind of hoped it would be a bit more steamy but it wasn't really. I'd rate it about 2.5 stars. I still can't believe goodreads doesn't have the option for half stars. I left a few more comments on the book on it on my 'read' shelf here.

I've also been listening to the first in the series of *** 'The books of elsewhere' called 'The Shadows'.*** I haven't finished it yet but it's fantastic! Probably meant for children or early teens but I could still really enjoy it and still am. It's fantasy or magical realism. About a girl who moves to a mysterious old house and finds some old glasses and manages to 'step in to' the paintings and their scenes and find out some intriguing mysteries. There's a cat in it that speaks to which can be really funny (I left a comment on it on my 'currently reading' shelf quoting a bit if anyone wants to take a look).

Before this I was listening to *** 'Maeve's times' by Maeve Binchy***
. It has a bit of all sorts in it and is better than it probably sounds! Little snippets of experiences she's had including going to a royal wedding, a bra fitting where the queen gets her bras made, someone she knows having to go to the middle East to have an abortion (something to do with the fact they were Jewish, but they actually wanted to keep the baby but I think it was only acceptable to have two children or something). Bare in mind it's partly set in Ireland so things there and the attitudes and ways of thinking were a bit behind England (although I'm aware abortion is still illegal there).

It's okay with the number of books. I think 2 is a good number. Your health is more important in the long run.

I did pretty well this month. I have to look back at my challenge so I can list them.
Take care of yourself Sophie! 2 books are better than none! I'm obsessed with audiobooks so let me know if you need and recommendations.

Sophie (sophiesworld) Cool :-) I mostly get them free from an organisation so I have a browse and just have what they have. I just finished another at the weekend except I think they only sent me 1 cd when it was meant to be 2 because it couldnt have been 12 hrs and stopped very abruptly and didnt cover the whole time span described. It was just memoirs so it was ok!
