These are books which are available for checkout from Open Library. You do have to register to check them out and no one else can read them while you have them checked out. So, if possible do return these when you are finished with them so that they can quickly go to the next person who wants to read them. I hope this is allowed, if it isn't let me know right away before I make the other lists. For those not aware, Open Library scans books and makes them available for checkout. They are able to do this only if they currently own a physical copy of the book. They operate a book drive every year to gather more books for their collection. If you have a copy of a book that they don't have, you can mail it in to them and have it added to the collection. I will be sending in a few I purchased to complete this list. I was really surprised how many were available now. That's 199 available titles from the 0-3, 3+ and 5+ categories. I guess people have been donating quite a bit since last I checked. I need to put together a box of some of the ones I've purchased and send them in. One of these days I'm going to make a reverse list of the missing ones and start trying to donate them. A lot of them are fairly cheap, it's just the shipping and trying to buy all of them that get's expensive. I use the library, but our library has very slim pickings on books over ten years old in the kid's section.

Another resource for some is university libraries near them. I was able to read some of the more obscure picture books and shorter novels at university libraries when we were visiting family in various locations. Just go to worldcat.org and see where books are located.

I have some astonishingly fabulous resources here in Melbourne, Australia - however I know that many books will never be found here (& postage is a killer!)

So I will continue to add specifically digital / online links, so that anyone, from almost anywhere, can experience these stories too.
